wow just had the best cod and chips I've ever eaten. it was a home delivery after reading the evening post live review. eating was still hot and crispy. the cod just flew away in huge, damp pieces and the dough wasn't greasy, but had a nice crack. I also had very nice chips. bevelled rings that have to be fresh were delicious. tried irish curry sauce I had never heard of, but it was smooth, tangie, with a spicy sweet. the delivery lasted about an hour, but for freshly cooked eating at a busy time of the day did not think that was bad. what surprised me was the huge amount of gluten-free and vegan options available. you have never seen that with ordinary “Chippy’s”. they have a lot of vegan /...
food and drink 9/10 service 7/10 decor and atmosphere: 6/10 service speed 8/10 cost 7/10 the best: from nz I could not find a decent fish and chips in Britain until now! the worst: small menu, but I think they're really just from a background here. the price is not cheap, but put on par with others who serve average food. the deep point: the cable is fresh with large rugged flocks in an upper kerbschlag. it is almost like kartoffelmaisch on the inside! chips are chips, but these youngs make it good! platz itself is a bit bleak, but they are probably not planning to eat and take away. will be my way to ask for mine.
Definitely my favourite chippy in brizzle. If I can I get almost everything on the vegan menu (lol), the vegan cheese and onion fritter/curry fritter/mushy pea fritter are all sooo good. Also worth trying the battered sausage and burger which are both well worth trying! One thing is sometimes the curry sauce is thin and sometimes it's thicker, not sure why the difference but worth pointing out. Really like their chips too, and every time we've had food delivered it's been hot.
I had seen one if the best fish and chips in Bristol and thought I 'd give it a go for an easy meal while I was in the area. One word to describe it, Mediocre. My fish was too greasy and tasted a bit off, Perhaps I just got an odd bad batch but the chips weren 't up to the standard I had expected from other reviews prior to my visit. fantastic eating, had a delivery to the reiseodge where we were, delivered on time, nice and warm and will highly recommend, will definitely order again when we come back. Thank you. wonderful fish and steak and ale pie was also lush
Came in as hadn't been in for a very long time. I'm glad I did as the gent behind the counter was courteous and professional. Food was very nice and hot. Unfortunately portion size is small but everything else is very good
We ordered large cod, portion of scampi, and an extra large portion of chips. It was nice, but portion size of chips very small, no way we're they extra large. Which meant we did not have enough.
