Me and my husband have been here a few times and we absolutely love it. This weekend was our best experience yet. We came to celebrate our 4th anniversary and our waitress was just incredibly personable and sweet, also very attentive. She was definitely busy (as this restaurant always is) yet still went over the menu thoroughly, answered all our questions, and gave great recommendations on both food and drinks. The lamb chops that she recommended were absolutely incredible, as well as the beef tartare. Thank you so much Amber for engaging with us and making our anniversary even more special. We loved that you asked how we met and stayed to listen for so much more. Of course we will be back,...
We dined at Olive Oak this evening and had such a wonderful and personal experience. We were greeted by Chris, who was welcoming and attentive throughout the evening. Benjamin was our waiter and he was wonderful as well! We sampled multiple delicious cocktails, LOVED the bread service, enjoyed the charred octopus appetizer, and for dinner the Gaucho Steak Braised Lamb Shank were both flavorful and delicious! We would highly recommend The Shorty for dessert! Thank you Chris Benjamin for a lovely evening!!
The atmosphere is wonderful open and comfortable. Wait staff and bartender were attentive and professional. However very disappointed in my meal. Fried green tomatoes were sub-par over fried too much breading, roasted broccoli was charred but still raw, frisse all day salad was not arugula as stated but endive had no egg and the croutons were not croutons but just cut up soft bread, textures and flavors of all three were unpleasant. I intend to go back so I’m hoping it was just a bad day in the kitchen.
Meh…. The focal point of any restaurant should be the food; the food here was OK and fell far from the expectations set by other reviews and certainly bot worth the prices being charged. As for the service, it was beyond slow and the cause of much speculation during conversation as there was no shortage of employees… I would describe the atmosphere as trendy modern; very much a me too vibe then anything original but nothing wrong with it, and it was clean and well kept. Olive Oak is simply an STL must try place! Some of the best food and drinks I’ve had anywhere in a beautiful setting with outstanding service. Every bite of our meal was delicious would recommend Chicken Arayes appetizer, Rack of Lamb, Local Beet Carpaccio, and all oysters. You really cannot go wrong here!! Each drink we ordered was unique, well balanced, and flavorful. Cannot wait to revisit O O! Bravo!!
I loved the atmosphere and service of this place, my waiter was awesome and very knowledgeable about the menu. Unfortunately what I got just wasn’t that good to me. I got the mushroom dish and although I LOVE mushrooms it wasn’t it to me. The bread before hand was yummy though and they brought a vegan spread. Lots of different items to try that can be veganized, which would make me come back.
We moved to St. Louis two years ago and this is by far our favorite restaurant. The food has always been delicious and the cocktails are something we look forward to. We always manage to go here for dinner at least once while family or friends are visiting from out of town.

Great service. Food was very good. Daughter's had oysters for the first time . Very nice space. Attentive staff. Great neighborhood.
