My first time staying in Brooklyn as we are returning to our hotel on 4th Ave. I spy a French Flag and I see the name Olivier Bistro and I think to myself, “Self might this be a place for dinner. A simple rustic bistro with a very attentive, friendly staff. The hostess was gracious and the staff were on point with service and suggestions. The escargots were lovely, tender and mild with an exquisite sauce. The choux frites were also very appetizing, with the creative addition of almond slices. The moules frites marinière, however, were uninspiring just good enough to be adequate. The frites were truly French, no dispute there hard to find such authentic French fries. Went with my hubby this past Saturday night. We went earlier than our reservation to take advantage of happy hour. This meant a dollar of each drink from 5-7. That was no bargain at all. Most establishments when they have a happy hour there are usually some deals. My husband ordered a bourbon with a side of ginger ale which after the $1 deduction was $13. Food was tasty but portions small for the price. Service was slow. One more thing, if you are going to pour water in our glasses either have ice or make sure it’s cold, especially as we near the summer months.
olivier bistro is a reliable choice for excellent classic French bistro tariff in park slope. her hanger steak entree is delicious as her daily fish selection. service is excellent. the intimate environment is charming, and olivier also offers good restaurants outside. you can't go wrong with olivier!

It was exactly what we were looking for. A relaxed place with great food and lovely service. Small, intimate space that still accommodated my wife and children well. Perfect for the weeknight outing we had, and would love to go back again.
Great neighborhood French bistro. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection and delicious. First time but will definitely return. Highly recommend.
