Interesting building with lovely stucco facades. Exterior is rather disappointing. The cafe was closed due to staff shortages. P.S. My review refers to current condition without comparing before and after , as the owner may want it to be. In a book, romantisches Thüringen by Lutz Unbehaun, I discovered a color lithograph by Carl Wilhelm Arldt Schloss Unter-Oppurg around 1840, with a fabulous atmosphere, at least for me. Of course, after I saw the castle on the internet and found out that it is open to the public and that it is in operation, I visited the castle with a certain expectation. Das Schloss, das auf große Kosten renoviert wurde (unter anderem mit unserem Steuergeld), ist jetzt leider von Ukrainern bewohnt, die nicht bereit sind zu arbeiten!!! Es gibt keine Gastronomie mehr für Touristen, sondern Vollpension für die aktuellen Bewohner. Schade, wie unsere Kulturgüter behandelt werden!
