My girlfriend and I came to Newcastle for my birthday and were given tickets to watch the magpies at St. James's Park. On our arrival day, we looked for a Chinese restaurant within a twenty-minute drive of our hotel but ended up at a Pizza Hut. However, on our fourth day, we stumbled upon an amazing Chinese restaurant in South Shields. Despite its unassuming exterior, the restaurant had a tastefully designed interior with a welcoming atmosphere. I used to love this place 10 years ago however it's now absolutely rubbish. I had no thai fishcake in my mixed starter nor the sauce to go with it and what was there was cold ****. The beef in my green curry was the...slimiest most unpalatable meat I've ever eaten (I've travelled the world and ate some obscure sh!te over the years . To top it all off, after ordering prawn crackers, in an expensive Thai restaurant you must understand, the manger told me told me that they're unable to source thai prawn crackers from anywhere in the North East of England! I guess I rather naively thought an expensive thai restaurant could make their own! I gave this place another chance after previous dissapoin...
Orangegrass is situated in a residential area and a semi-industrial park, making it not stand out from the outside. It is not located in the city center of Shields, so it may be easy to overlook. However, once you enter the entrance at 7 Mount Terrace (resembling a community hall), you will find the original restaurant where friendly employees dressed in smart Thai traditional silk outfits are ready to welcome you. The interior of the restaurant is pristine and appealing, with a spacious room divided into different areas. During our visit yesterday evening, we received excellent service from our server. The restaurant also offers a great wine list, and we enjoyed a bottle of Opal Ridge.
Used to be a regular here but thought the service was going down, decided to try it again last night and it's even worse although the food was still nice which is a shame that the customer service is bad We were served our food...without any plates so had to eat from the serving bowls because no staff were there to ask, in the kitchen having fun The noise from the kitchen was awful, laughing and squealing, I am all for enjoying your job but not at the expense of spoiling customers night out

that was an excellent meal. all about it. we were a big table, seven of us, but that didn't affect the service or quality at all. the service was first advice and the food was raised. special mention for the suppe and the lambmasamam. the healing I had. really excellent.
I must say my first visit can customer service of nee and thu not fail to fail if the spelling false amazing eating excellent service and help on what to order as it first visit would recommend every minute, will be back without doubt x
Received a warm welcome in this spacious restaurant. The service was slick and the food a duck dish and a king prawn dish) was delicious. With not being in the town centre there is plenty of parking nearby.
Eating at this restaurant is a truly enjoyable experience. It offers the best Thai food in the area. The takeout service is just as delightful as dining in, and the food is always served promptly.

Really poor customer service, food was nice. The owner is very rude! Got bookings mixed up. Maybe have more people working. Drinks were flat
