The low rating this restaurant has is truly surprising! First and foremost, I want to say that I absolutely LOVE this place! The food is delicious, and I'm more than willing to pay a bit extra because I enjoy my meals here every single time. The golden deep-fried scallops and the Dragon rolls are among my top favorites! The food here is actually quite good. Although the service could use some improvement, the prices are higher than Mikado, but the quality of the nigiri sushi, sashimi, and other dishes is comparable. I visited today for lunch with two friends, and we ordered deluxe sushi, deluxe sashimi, chicken kara-age, and beef tataki. Everything was delicious! The sashimi included yellowfin (not bluefin, as mistakenly mentioned by one of the reviewers), as well as toro and other staples like tako and salmon.
We were welcomed promptly by the staff, who took our drink orders immediately and served them quickly. The same level of efficiency continued with our main dishes, which included tonkotsu ramen, shio chicken ramen, and a California roll. While the service was excellent, the food fell short of expectations. The ramen lacked a specific flavor that I couldn't identify, and the California roll was a bit dry. I also accidentally left my bag behind, but the staff kindly kept it safe for me at the front until I came back to get it. Thankfully, it was still there! Pretty below average. Sushi deluxe had good selection but the fish was not super fresh. The ramen was ok. The chirashi bowl had everything as expected but came with a lot of rice so the proportion threw me off. I didn't really bother with the salad and soup that came with. The salmon avocado roll was my favorite. The best part of the experience was the service.
Overall, it was a pretty good experience. I sat down and decided to Google the restaurant. Initially, the ratings concerned me, but I was pleasantly surprised by the sushi.
