We were traveling for the first time to Brooks Alberta and used our Magellan GPS to locate this Chinese restaurant. We were so glad that we came here. The servers were warm and friendly. When we tasted the food we noticed the high quality difference in the presentation and the taste. During the meal the chef came by our table to ask us how we were doing. She was charming and explained how she cooked for her customers as if they were eating at her family table. We surely felt that extra love and care in the food. Only problem was were ordered too much and had plenty to carry out.
March 24th was my step-daughter's birthday. We ordered 13 different dishes and they were perfectly cooked, not a lot of oil, all very different in flavor and beautiful to look at. As a family, we would rate this restaurant as the top restaurant in Brooks. Why? Because the food is unique. Even though we are good cooks, we are unlikely to make 13 different dishes with such perfection. My husband and I and our children, highly recommend this restaurant. What are our favorite dishes? Sweet and sour pork, wor wanton soup, ginger beef, seafood sizzling hot plate.
We had takeout. Three entrees. Nowhere near as good as the old recipes by original owners. The Ginger Beef is in a syrup more like molasses. The sweet and sour pork had no peppers and pineapple, disappointing. Spring rolls tatsed like the old ones...very crisp. We asked for rice noodles and were given wheat ones. We will be switching to H&K Alley Cat. Best wishes to the retirement of the original owners. (Good luck to the new owners. Don't change a good thing
Small restaurant with great food. Family owned and run. Smorgasbord is small, but the food is amazing. All the food is prepared in the restaurant and they do n't rely on frozen product. In the back I noticed a massive walk-in cooler and normal sized home freezer. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Everything is prepared in the restaurant by the owner. You can taste the quality difference on your first bite. The lunch smorg has a smaller selection, but has all the main attractions. Also has great deals on family servings platters.
Oriental Garden has the most wonderful lunch time buffet. Make sure you get their special chicken wings - to die for. Very resonably priced - Definitely one of our favorite places to go for lunch!
the chinese food is the best in Brooks the sweets are not too sweet and the sours are not too sour very good lemon chicken this restaurant is very clean and friendly very good family run business

Small restaurant, smallish smorg but had all the favorites and tasted great. Very reasonable cost too. I would eat here again, great food and great value!
