We have been travelling around the West Coast of France and I have to say, food at Iode is the best I have come across. More importantly, you actually get served vegetables instead of frites! Staff are all great. Last night my husband was presented with a crustacea fork. We had never come across this before and the waiter very patiently showed him how to use it. I now know what to get him for Christmas! The view from the table is beautiful...the sea sparkling with the golden sand in the foreground. Cuisine rating: the dishes offered are good but the choice is limited, particularly the desserts. The preparation of the Gravelax salmon was not up to standard: no marinade. Service rating: a large team present, pleasant but not enough to serve customers. As an illustration of the dirty cutlery and plates on the table which required a request from a server on my part to be removed. Too bad for a 4 star!
The view is exceptional. The food is great and offers a lot of variety. The 3 course menu is always to be checked out, but there are many other options à la carte“. On top of the quality of the ingredients and the kitchen staff, the servers are very professional and kind. You do not have to stay at the Novotel Thalassa hotel to dine here.
Very beautiful setting, beautiful view, but the kitchen is a little tight and the dishes are not plentiful enough, we were still hungry at the end of the meal. The crème brûlée was very good. Cheese platter not sufficiently garnished, no fig jam and served without bread. Friendly but distracted service. Too bad for the price all the same.
