I've ordered sushi from Otoro multiple times and each time the number of pieces is fewer than described on their menu. The medium sushi is described on their menu as having 22 pieces; yet once I got 14 pieces and the next time 15 pieces. When I complained, they gave me a few extra pieces. When I said that still didn't add up to 22, they gave me more pieces but the total number of pieces only came to 21. The small sushi is described on their menu as having 8-9 pieces; yet I got 7 pieces. I give up. They've won. I won't be going back. It's just too hard. All I wanted was dinner, not a battle.
Tried order food from this place by foodora for the first time. Worst Japanese food EVER!!!! Me and my parent are not a fussy eater but we have never had such a bad Japanese food EVER! The karaage Chicken looked has no butter on it and they were tasteless. The soft crab salad was way too salty. The reman we ordered has no flavour but salty again! Last dish the eel sushi roll cannot be picked up by chopsticks coz they were too lose and 90℅ were rice! I do not recommend anyone to visit this place! Seriously!
Very dirty place, the service is terrible I couldn't even get a clean glass, we showed the dirty glass to the waiter she looked at it took it and "clean it" with the rug she was using to wipe tables. I almost walked out. Food was so so we ordered fresh sushi rolls but one of them came cold and dry from the fridge the other two had excessive amounts of Mayo and sauce not sure if they were trying to hide something with that. I'm never coming back.

It is disappointing when you order a medium Sashimi home delivery, to receive only 2 types of fish, Salmon and Tuna, along with oysters, scallops and 2 sushi. I actually thought they made a mistake, but when I called the chef said no, the order was correct. Lucky for me I'm not allergic to shell fish. Or it would have been inedible. Worst attempt at sashimi I have experienced. Won't be buying from here again.
We love Otoro, its fresh, flavoursome food, friendliness and is consistently good, We have been going there for three years and have never been disappointed with the fabulously good Japanese food. Award winning chef Michael is a delight and never fails to serve up exceptional dishes. My absolute favourite place to eat. I can't believe how good it is and such good value.
What a gem of a place. The best Bento Box i have had in years. We went on Friday night and were so impressed ... we went again on Saturday. Its casual and crazy cheap. Dinner for 2 was $32 and no shortage of food. Its tucked away near the old post office, so maybe people don't find it.
Ignore the negative reviews - this restaurant is fantastic! They offer fresh and delicious Japanese cuisine at an affordable price. We have been loyal customers for years and have always been satisfied with both the food and service. A hidden gem in Marrickville.

I had the Illawarra bento box which basically didn't soar to any great heights. Too much rice for my liking and the teriyaki sauce on the salmon a little overpowering. I don't think I will return unfortunately
