Castelnaudary is a pretty little town and must be the cassoulet capital of the world based on the number of restaurants that specialised in it!However today's visit was the half way point for a 6 hour drive from San Sebastian to our frinds's place just north of Lamalou so something light was in order.Pain et Passion as you might guess is a bakery but one with a secret - a large balcony overlooking the mooring basin on the Canal du Midi.The food ranges from baguettes to salads during the day. I had a smoked salmon baguette and Lyn had the niçoise. Both were very generous and tasty. The house rosé finished it off nicely. Good coffee as well.But the location is the real winner. I love it! Home polite, kindness, advice and very good quality products. Different breads, pastries, salt products, a tea room and the possibility of eating salads (copiers) on site, everything is great! In the bedroom or terrace with a very beautiful view of the large basin, a break is really nice. Prices are very correct. To be tested with family, with friends or for a relaxing time.
A service, an exceptional reception with opening hours to the measurement of our expectations, breads of very high quality. And cherry on the cake take the time to enjoy a coffee or tea with treats in the small living room or on the terrace by the lake You can also snack at noon
Beautiful terrace with a magnificent view of the Castelnaudary Pier. Quick and friendly service, good coffee and delicious cakes, pastries, bread, among others. Restaurant café-bar impeccable. It would be interesting to come back tomorrow. Very recommended! ;

We had lunch here a few days ago and decided to eat on the balcony looking over the canal du midi. The service was great and the meal we had, baguettes we delicious! Not expensive and a great way to relax.
This is an excellent refreshment stop that looks like a little patisserie from the street but has a stunning terrace at the rear overlooking the Grand Basin. Fabulous savouries, baguettes and pastries.
By the way to Castelnaudary, I found this bakery where I bought some extra sandwiches. The bread was very good and the filling was generous. The pastries were delicious. I highly recommend!
Great! The terrace in the back above the large basin is high. Excellent price. Very good service. A little coffee and a Paris-Brest all set in the sun was a good time. I recommend.

Very nice place with its shaded terrace by the canal, not to mention the food and bread that are excellent, affordable prices. A pleasure for the eyes and gourmets.
We eat very well, very good reception, very reasonable prices.
