Pig on the Hill. Have driven by or under this joint many times and finally was able to stop. Glad I did, pit smoked goodness. Papa Kayjoes has the necessary earmarks to attract my attention pile of Hickory smoke house/pit outback odd assortment of vehicles in the parking lot and an air of barbecueness The pork was sweet, smoky, tender didn 't need sauce (though I tried the Mild , the Hot, and the Sweet all good). I ate the Southern Way Special a bargain at $5.99 corn cakes (hoe cakes) with a mound of barbecue and white beans (or Baked beans). The corn cakes were excellent, the Barbecue sublime and the white beans (with a slice of onion) topped it off nicely. Papa Kayjoes a keeper.
Best BBQ this side of the Mississippi river!. This BBQ is the best you will ever have! I eat at Papa Kayjoe's every chance I get. They have the very best sweet tea, BBQ, and BBQ beans. They also have the best homemade sauces to put on your sandwich. Another favorite of mine is the grilled cheeseburger although its really hard not to order the large BBQ pork with BBQ beans. I really wish I could get some BBQ mailed to me on a weekly basis since I no longer live close! Its definitely worth the drive no matter how far you live! YUM!
Unique, Interesting, Fun Eating. Set up on the hill.... creative little bar-b-que eating joint. Nostalgic decor. Lots of locals eat here. Eat up at the antique counter or in the small dining area.... or they have fast take out. Super sweet southern ice tea. Good tasting bbq they smoke themselves outback. Southern cornbread, beans, slaw and most of the time homemade pie. I saw a write up on them in Garden and Gun magazine..... and we have eaten here many times. good food, good experience
Heavenly burgers. ****! Had the Papa Burger and loved every bit his temper. Good sailor on the .5 lb burger, fresh cheese, tons of pulled pork, cheese and bacon. Not even my pommes touched them well, just too concentrated on the burger. I also think I ate too many of the free peanuts. Can't beat this for six dollars!!!

Papa KayJoe's serves the best BBQ on this side of the Mississippi, in my opinion. I have traveled extensively throughout the country and always make a point to try different BBQ restaurants, but Papa KayJoe's has been the standout for me.
The food was excellent, and we felt a real sense of family during our visit. Be sure to ask about Kaye's children and the Great Danes. Also, find out if both Great Danes are now on a fresh diet.
every time I come with the family in centerville, we always have to go in papa cages that they serve the best grill in western tennessee!
This is hands down the best BBQ I've ever had. It's consistently excellent every time!
