Papi's was recommended by a stranger on the beach. We saw the menu and let me say they have the best ALLERGY FRIENDLY, including GLUTEN and DAIRY FREE menu! (See, I sent a picture to my MIL-Bc, which she hates onions! You will understand when you see the menu! So, my beast and I went to dinner, and fortunately we did it early, so there was no waiting time. We were sitting at the front door. I, the observer I am, noticed the total occupancy is 39 persons max. Note: It is a very packed, narrow restaurant. Don't be afraid to be comfortable! I also noticed there were 3 levels. One of the better places on the island for sure. After a lackluster meal at Lawrence?s down the street, I was pleasantly surprised by Papi?s Taqueria. The menu had its weak spots I wouldn?t recommend the Nashville Hot taco, the Churros, or the salsa), but it made up for it with its extremely strong dishes fish tacos, guacamole, queso, steak taco, and street corn) Between the four us we nearly ordered everything on the menu, and despite the weaker dishes I would definitely opt for Papi?s over the majority of the restaurants on the island. It?s a refreshing meal that leaves you full but not feeling icky after, and the street corn is absolutely lovely if you go you HAVE to try it.
Probably one of the worst places I was here. As a local I am sad to make this contribution, but not good food. The first place was dirty. All our glasses were dirty (other peoples lip prints and food bites) I got a diet cook 3 times with zero carbonation and our menus were covered with gunk. The nachos were decent, but super cold and the cheese was black bean water mix. The tacos were also super tiny, tasteless and cold. I really wanted to like this place.? Must be drunk to enjoy this facility lol I?m shocked on the quality of food bc the reviews looked pretty good. Everything was cold.
Great tiny taco shack and taqueria we stumbled upon on our leisurely Sunday! Everything tasted fresh and we got good sized portions of the tacos. You definitely only need one or two as they are hearty!! I wasn?t the biggest fan of the salsa or margarita (I?d just had better before) but the poblano queso was unique and delicious as well as the pork belly breakfast taco and fresh fish taco! Yes yes yes yes yes! This place is amazing! One of the best before or after beach spots. They have a really good variety on the menu, and it was all packed with so much flavor! I am a taco connoisseur, and I am telling you, you can't go wrong with Papi Taqueria. I can add this to my list of new favorite beach eats! Nothing beats a fresh suntan, salty hair, a margarita in your hand, and a tray full of yummy tacos! ?
Definitely one of the better restaurants here at the isle of palms sea side. Everything is kind of mid. I wish they served the tacos with 2 corn tortillas instead of one. $8 for one 3 taco. Still pretty good. My rice in my breakfast burrito was crunchy. ? the service is really the best though. Better than Windjammer and the rum place beside them.
For the first time sat and it was amazing. Had her chicken tortilla soup and it was full of avocado, pieces delicate chicken and just the right spice. Sooo good. Followed by her churro beignets with hot chocolate sauce with cream and Og! 10 out of 10 on the yummy scale!

Mostly delicious food, great staff wonderful outdoor seating options. Only weak dish was the street corn, but I would absolutely eat here again.
