It’s disappointing when one of your favorite restaurants lets you down. Pappy's has always been fantastic, but lately the quality has dropped. To put it simply, tonight we received half-sized portions of cold food. The Apple Cobbler, which used to be a solid 10, was just overcooked dough with a scoop of ice cream the size of a golf ball. Such a letdown! I recommend avoiding this place for now.
Pappy’s takes me back to the days when Black Eye Pea was still at its best. I decided to try the chicken strips, as they seem to be a favorite among diners. I also ordered fries and a salad with ranch dressing. The chicken strips were decent, but they could have been crispier. The gravy on the side was quite tasty. The fries were just average, and the salad was pretty standard.
The food is excellent and the portions are generous. The menu offers a wide variety of options, and everything our group ordered was delicious. If you're planning to order appetizers and main courses, be sure to arrive with a healthy appetite! They also provide a wonderful soup takeaway for lunch.
Food was DELICIOUS!!! I had bacon cheeseburger and he had chicken fried steak with Mac n cheese. They also brought out samples of the shrimp grits, baked potato soup and tortilla soup ALL AMAZING!! Definitely a pit stop to make between Houston and Austin!! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Love this place! The atmosphere is just perfect. Makes you feel comfortable. Staff is friendly and food is always hot and delicious. Only flaw for me.. I don't love their chicken fried steak, but everything else I've tried has been really yummy!
Pappy's is our go to family place. Good value on most items kids love the place. Good service and friendly staff. Our faves are fried catfish and fajitas and an Ice cold IBC rootbeer with frozen mug to wash it all down.
You won't find better food than at Pappys! They've moved to a new location just 5 miles west at 12313 Katy Freeway. Simply take the Dairy Ashford exit. You'll be glad you did!
