Oh Pappy’s, you truly made me a happy diner! The BBQ here is nothing short of legendary. There's a reason it has such a great reputation. The beans were the best I've ever tasted. Honestly, I don’t think there's much more to add that others haven’t already said—this place is fantastic. We waited about 20 minutes to be seated, and it was absolutely worth it. If you're going to complain about the wait, you're missing the point. This is one of the most renowned BBQ spots in the country; waiting is part of the experience! The staff were incredibly friendly and polite. My only minor issue is that the hallways and waiting area are quite narrow, especially since that's where the restrooms are locat...
During my two-day stay in St. Louis, I had to indulge in some barbecue. The ribs I tried were meaty and tender, exactly what I was hoping for. I also opted for a quarter order of chicken, and I was pleased I did. However, the only downside is that the restaurant is situated in a rather unattractive suburban mall parking lot, which leaves much to be desired in terms of atmosphere. On the first day of my trip, I visited Salt and Smoke Barbecue in University City. Their ribs were good as well, but I would say they don't quite measure up to this place.
The pulled pork, brisket, and ribs here are absolutely fantastic! The ribs are dry-rubbed with a touch of spice, and adding one of their sauces really elevates the flavor. One sauce is sweet and smoky, which is my favorite, while the other is vinegar-based and equally delicious! They offer Pepsi products, which is a bonus for us! Overall, this is definitely top-notch barbecue! Don't miss out on the fresh pork rinds—they're incredibly tasty and crunchy!
Best ribs I've ever had. Wife said the burnt ends were amazing and the brisket was good. BBQ sauces were fantastic and flavorful a perfect match for the meat. However, the sides were all terrible. The ribs were seasoned with a dry rub and cooked to perfection. The staff were incredibly helpful, checking on us several times, even though it’s a counter service restaurant. I didn’t focus much on the sides since the meat was the highlight, but I’m sure they were just as delicious.
Some of the best ribs I've ever had—possibly the best. That's a tough statement for a Texan to make, considering how hard it is to find BBQ that rivals Texas standards. The service was quick, the food was excellent, and the prices were reasonable. The sides were fantastic too!
