Texan type here, visit austin. we came for the cardinal game and saw that this was the place for ripening. Nice that we came and the hour waited for a table. line moves super slowly, ready to wait. If you have the time, you will experience the best pork you've ever eaten. they are deliciously cooked, with this beautiful chewing bark slightly sweet. we have a whole rack between us. also ordered the combo with burned ending as I did not remember burned ending, it was more like pulled brisket. that was too sweet for my taste. my son didn't like it at all. the maize-on-the-copper was incredible. if you like mais, don't give it up. never had anything like that. they flash it and place a beautiful...
My husband loved this place, I wasn’t a big fan to be honest. Not much of a wait when we went, which was great! Staff was super friendly and my hubby loved his pulled pork and slaw! I had the brisket, baked potato and baked beans. Wasn’t a fan of the way the brisket was sliced(very thin). My potato was still pretty hard and cool on the inside, and my baked beans had a gooey texture to them. I think I gave most of my food to a man standing on the street corner, who was hungry! amazing st. louis ripen! so tasteful that they really don't need to add soak, but the sauces simply improve their taste. we had the big ben that brings a complete rack of ripening, a brisket sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, chicken sandwich and 4 sides. I choose brisket over pulled pork every day, but I must say both were equally delicious. the baked beans are one must. overall we had a delicious firm and highly recommended. if I could change a thing, it would be the temperature of eating, but that's my preference, I wish it was hotter in attempt, but that won't stop me from coming back.
amazing beautiful bands. we had waited about 40 minutes to take a place, but it was worth waiting. the personal is super friendly and efficient in the sanitary and switching of the tables fast. the commands came out hot within 5 minutes. also the brisket and the pulled pork were delicious. the sides were really good, especially the deep fried mais on the cob and the green beans. we can't wait to come back. thanks. pappys for the great food and experience. The food is amazing!! The ribs and burnt ends were so delicious. Great customer service- really friendly cashier, servers and manager who walked around and checked in to make sure we were enjoying our meal. The food came out quickly as well and the prices were reasonable. The only thing is that there are 2 restaurants in one building and the signage isn’t too clear. So make sure you ask if this is Pappy’s.
Brisket and burnt ends were good, but not on that next level to be great. The sides were good as well, but I think a few more such as Mac and cheese would be great to have. Sauces were good as well, especially the Carolina Vinegar and the Sweet Sauce. Overall good brisket, but not revolutionary. Staff and owner/manager were very friendly, and that was greatly appreciated.
the best! for the luck we had our fair share of bbq, and with this pappy is the best yet! tender, fall from the bone good! it can wait a bit, but don't worry, wait, it will be worth it! service is great and the atmosphere is rustic and relaxed! enjoy!
