Tucked away in a rather shabby looking food court is a little French gem. The food is cooked fresh daily, and the portions are more than generous. They have a couple of staples available ready to eat, usually huge, tender lamb shanks with mash, fresh veg and a whole head of roast garlic ($15), a beef bourguignon with same sides and a chicken casserole 9also $15). Made to order options of fillet steak, snapper and duck a l'orange. Wonderful crepes made to order with a variety of fillings as well as a couple of french pasty dessert options. The food court is in need of a facelft unfortunately, but that doesnt seem to stop it from being very busy. It is also BYO so a great spot for an inexpensi...
One does not usually expect to be confronted with high quality French Food in a food court. Today, hunger, time and opportunity coincided at a food court in Cambridge St Wembley. The menu was not large but the taste and flavours were. The cost was not high and elsewhere one could pay two to three times the price, for quality no better that we found at this local and otherwise unremarkable food court. The ambience was low but the tables were clean and the owner/chef pleasant, helpful and obliging. Oh, and yes the crepes were outstanding
The Paris Cafe is the only French / western food available at the Cambridge International Food Court.The food is very nice and the staff friendly.Two at our table tried the beef bourguignon which they absolutely loved - I had the beef lasagne which was good (nothing special but still very nice and came with a great salad).Although I didn't get to try them the Crepes looked amazing too.Can definitely recommend.
The new owners are friendlier. However the Duck a L'Orange is no where as nice as it used to be. The duck was not crispy or confit enough as there was still white fat on the skin. The sauce was ok, I hope you guys get better with practice. It has been my favourite place to have french food! The old owners deserve a good retirement Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
It's so sad that the french chef sold his business cos we loved his lamb shank so much. Unfortunately, the new owner has dropped the ball, quality is not the same anymore. The gravy for lamb shank is watery, taste a bit plain, and the almighty roasted garlic is no longer caramelised. A bit disappointed.
Fantastic lamb shanks for $15, especially the accompanying baked garlic. Their crepes are pretty good too. If the dish were transplanted into a fancy Perth restaurant they would likely fetch upwards of $40.
So glad I found this gem of a cafe. Absolutely LOVE the pork in apple sauce and the Chicken Verdan. The roasted garlic was delicious. Just the home-style meals I need and at a great price.
Never eaten here. But if their attitude towards paying tradesman who do work for them is anything to go by (never got payment) i would stay clear of this sess pit Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
I have to say. Surprisingly good. I love Asian food but always good to have nice lamb shank and steak for a change. Good value, and love the roast garlic!
