What a fabulous little gem this place is! We were warmly greeted by our waiter upon arrival and shown to our table. The restaurant is well-equipped with seating arrangements that adhere to COVID guidelines, and the cleanliness is impeccable. When it comes to the food, it's one of the best tapas meals I've had outside of Spain—amazing flavors and generous portions that are definitely worth it. The staff is incredibly friendly and eager to help with any dietary needs, and it was a pleasure to meet the owner/chef at the end of the evening. The small Pokey Square likely has a lively atmosphere during busy times, but unfortunately, the food and restroom situation leave much to be desired. We ordered five tapas dishes, and the fried potatoes were bland and tasted as if they had been frozen. The prawns were okay but small in quantity. The bread and oil seemed like something you'd find at a pre-baked banquet—not exactly special, and certainly nothing a basic cook couldn’t prepare. If they used fresh seafood, better bread, and improved seasoning, I would have a much more positive review.
I visited this restaurant on Saturday and ordered the tapas platter, which was quite enjoyable. It did take a bit of time for our food to arrive, but I believe it was because they prepared everything fresh. The space is fairly small, and the ambiance can feel a bit uncomfortable when it’s quiet. Additionally, the service could have been improved. Overall, it was a dine-in experience for lunch.
