This restaurant is poorly managed. Despite being profitable, they could achieve so much more success. The person responsible for the menu and product availability clearly lacks any understanding of customer service. For instance, my wife enjoys a specific Italian salad offered at their Old Saybrook location, but they won't sell it at the South Windsor branch. I visited during Christmas week and they didn’t have pepperoni Stromboli. When I asked about it, the staff member said they wouldn't offer that item until next year! Wait, what??? I visited this location for the first time yesterday and was impressed by the wide variety of options available! The store is extremely clean and well-organized, and they also provide gloves and hand sanitizer, which I appreciated. The meals I've tried so far have been consistently fresh and delicious. Some of my favorites include the Chicken Parmesan, Beef Bourguignon, and Chickpea Curry. The salads are massive, and the cookies and pies are fantastic. The staff was friendly and very helpful as well.
Good luck getting good service in this location if you are a minority. My wife and I went in here on 12/31/20 and they could not have been any more mean to us. There was a gentleman there that was very friendly. I am guessing it was the manager or owner. But the clerks there were downright rude to us. Oh well, considering that we eat out 4 times a week it's their loss. I have been to other Pasta Vita locations in Wethersfield and Mohegan and those locations are alwaysfriendly.
Have always enjoyed my meals from Pasta Vita however I had the stuffed peppers this week. Absolutely the worst meal I’ve ever had. I needed a steak knife to cut the pepper and after one bite discarded the entire offering. The consistency of the pepper was like shoe leather and the taste was awful. The tiramisu we ordered was absolutely delicious. I still have the coconut pie in my freezer and I'm planning to enjoy it soon; it still looks and tastes fresh. The tri-color pasta was amazing as well. The lady who assisted us was very informative; she helped us choose the perfect garlic bread, and we baked it according to her instructions. It made a fantastic addition to our soups.
The staff here is fantastic! I always enjoy coming in to see them. Don’t get me wrong, they’re all great, but Hannah (I hope that’s her name) is my favorite. She definitely deserves a raise and a vacation!
our go to place for prepared food in connecticut. always fresh, delicious options. our favorites: clam chowder (soooo good! ceaser salad, any of the chicken entrees and the lasagne. good portions/prices.
