I have NEVER been treated with such disrespect from someone in the service industry until today and it was from the host/manager/owner, Nick. To my fellow parents please read this: I made a birthday reservation for me, my kids (2 year old my newborn), and my parents for this morning. My parents got there very early and refused to seat them until the whole party arrived (I get it it’s stated on the website), but he was also rude to them about it. My kids and I went to the Jet Room for Father’s Day brunch. We were told when we arrived that reservations were required for that day. I casually mentioned, confused, that on their website it only said that reservations were *available* and could be made a week prior. The gentleman who was speaking to me immediately had an annoyed look on his face and said “It’s right on the website” to which I responded again, “What I saw was that reservations were *available*, not required. So we came in and chanced it.” He responded, “I know what it said. I hope everyone in the Madison area gives their business to restaurants deserving of it. The Jet Room and their owner Nick is not deserving. To put someone in tears with the extreme level of rudeness he has so he can feel like a big bad man talking down to women makes me sick. He should be ashamed of how he acts and talks to customers who are paying HIS bills. Please do yourself a favor and tell all your friends and family to stay away from the Jet Room. As much as I 'd like to give them a better review, the only thing they really have going for them is their location next to the airport. I have never tried going there without having at least a 40 minute wait. Tried again today with my grandson. Told there was a 30 minute wait. After 35 minutes I checked to see how much longer and told you 're next . After 10 more minutes and 4 other names called, asked what the story was only to be told he forgot about me. Ordered Apple Fritter french toast, sausage and hash browns. Would have expected some hint of apple in the french toast but nada. Nick, this review is for you. I’m sure you never read low reviews because you have the emotional intelligence of a goldfish and probably have no drive to better yourself but I hope you see this one. I’m unsure what your problem is but being a bully to customers is not the way to keep a thriving business. It’s really unfortunate that you have the location you do because it’s likely the only reason you have customers. I think it would be good if you took a vacation or maybe thought about a different career opportunities because the way you’re conducting yourself is not appropriate, nor is it professional. I was there today and witnessed the worst customer service I have ever seen. There was a young woman with 3 kids and what looked like her mom and the server and owner Nick couldn’t have been more rude to them. These kids weren’t being out of control by any means, just a family out enjoying their Saturday morning. They were treated like third class citizens. If you’re thinking of coming here with a family (which seems like a good idea) I’d steer very clear. At least I will be when deciding where to bring my kids for a fun brunch.
If you’re in the mood for good eggs Benedict, then you should definitely go to any of the literal 200 other places in the Madison area with a good eggs benny because the dining experience at Jet Room will ruin your day. Bad service and bad management. The owner (Nick, I think) seems like the sort of guy that would steal a foul ball from a 6 year old at a Brewer game.
Waitress seemed really against having my kids anywhere near the window. Shame since they're pretty much half the restaurant. Had an indent of her acrylic nail in my pancake which was also just really flaky. Noticed only male staff wear gloves here. Some sort of weird agenda. Fantastic breakfast! If you like your hash browns extra crispy, they do them the best. Omelets and Bennie’s are fantastic; special shout out to Grace for her wonderful service!
