It was my first time trying this restaurant, and I'm very pleased with the experience. The food was delicious and authentic. The portion sizes were average, but the quality of the ingredients was high, and the prices were reasonable. I ordered the chicken shawarma plate for $15.95, which came with chicken shawarma, a salad, hummus, crispy pita, and regular pita bread. I also got a falafel sandwich to go for $8. The sandwich was large and full of flavor!
Food was okay, nothing too special. The best thing we got were the meat pies. We got a mix grill but the meat kafta was raw so we sent it back. The baba ganough had too many diced vegetables in it which is not normally how I've had it served. This restaurant charges a service fee of 3$/per customer to dine in which is pretty nuts. We were likely served by the owner and voiced our displeasure but they didn't seem to care.
Price was the insane part we had two wraps with lamb for 8 dollar each and that was fantastic ? loved them. Handed our waitress the menu and said we would like large french fries. Got the bill and large fries is 12 dollars!! Add tip 6 dollars! So lunch was 40 dollars. They did give us a shot glass of tea on the house And the wraps and fries tasted great! Just felt like we were stabbed with our own knife ?️ in the back.
While the food was quite delicious, I have concerns about their business practices. First, they brought us two bottles of water that we didn't request. Then there was a $6 service fee. Finally, I picked up a two-slice ice cream package from the freezer. When it came time to pay, the bill came to $52, which seemed quite high for ice cream! This is a genuine family-run restaurant, a true "mom-and-pop" establishment. The owners are incredibly lovely, and the food is simply outstanding. The husband manages the dining area, and his bright and cheerful demeanor lights up the space. Meanwhile, the wife is the chef, and she truly is a culinary genius. This place is a hidden gem, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Food: 5/5
The most authentic Syrian food around! Our party of 10 were floored by every dish. Excellent, quick service and the most savory, melt-in-your-mouth meats and traditional dishes that tasted homemade and clearly made with love. Their hospitality and care made us feel right at home! I don't recommend this restaurant to anyone (Arabs or others). I wished to eat authentic Syrian food, and I was excited to eat at this restaurant, but I was greatly disappointed. LOVED IT! Best Syrian food in Michigan. Really well run, kindest owners and the food was out of this world. No matter what you decide to order, you will like it. Not expensive, in fact every penny was worth it at the end.
