Sad pasta . Stay away . Very disappointed with the food . It came out so fast it clearly was microwaved /premade a few days if not a week ago . Waiter and service was nice but I came here for food after a nice Equinox workout nearby. The appetizer Mushroom risotto was not creamy , lacked salt and the cheese was raw sprinkled on top which I usually don’t see. Bad risotto . I ordered their famous Cavatelli with Nonna’s meatballs and the meatballs were flavorless , dry , borderline hard . It required some wrist strength to actually break it down. The first red flag was the bread coming out. It was very clearly supermarket bread and I was quite surprised to see such poor quality. Unfortunately, I ordered the Gnocchi Sorrentino. The sauce tasted like the cheapest canned tomato sauce and the actual gnocchi was flavorless and dull. I do not believe there was any seasoning in the sauce whatsoever. When the parmesan came out as well, it had no scent and no flavor. The gnocchi as a whole was the most disappointing meal I have had in a very long time. This restaurant is absolutely terrible! I wouldn't even give it 1 star. The food is so depressing. I paid $35 for short ribs pasta which was severely overpriced. The dish had no flavor - the ribs were barely there, the sauce was tasteless, and the pasta was overcooked. The ricotta that was supposed to come with it was practically nonexistent. The $27 meatballs pasta had two flavorless meatballs that were so tough, you needed a steak knife to cut them. The tomato sauce tasted like it came from a can. An off time to come on a Wednesday. 5pm place was empty. Waiter was great. Food came out in minutes. Beet salad and chicken franchise. Salad was good. Chicken came out piping hot and super fresh. Vegetables perfect and mashed potatoes creamy. The chicken didn’t have as much lemon flavor as I’d have liked and the portion size was more of a lunch portion. For the price of $29. The salad didn’t have as much dressing as it could have and it would’ve been better mixed rather then Arugula on top. Bathroom was spotless. Bread was ok, a bit dense and dry. I've only been to this restaurant once, but the food was good and reasonably priced. We sat outside in the back under the large tents they have, and they made an effort to make it comfortable and visually appealing. The staff was very friendly, and it was nice that it is BYOB. I can't really speak to the inside of the restaurant since we only waited for a minute to be seated outside. There was some confusion with the staff, and we weren't greeted by a very pleasant host as described on the website, so they could use some improvement in that area. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant for the reasons mentioned.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! My bf and I went to a restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. The server was very friendly, but the food was awful that it tasted rotten. I ordered Filet Mignon steak. I asked for medium rare. I was shocked when they brought the steak. They brought literally raw meat!!!!So, I had to ask for medium rare again and it was still raw meat. IS THIS A MEDIUM RARE??!!They completely ruined our dinner!
We went here for an event with 4 other couples. We had a beautiful outdoor table away from the other guests. The manager came out to greet our group. The wait staff was fairly attentive but could have been better. The food was excellent, really top notch. They accommodated our event well. The prices were reasonable for the class of place. I would definitely eat here or have an event here again.
Gotta say this mainstay in Ridgewood is getting better Momma greet you at the door with a couple of lovely young ladies who were very attentive. The swordfish was perfect as was the salmon. The shrimp was perfectly grilled with a yummy avocado, tomato and onion salad and the octopus was great too. Nice Alt Jazz playing and definitely worth the visit. Highly recommend! Enjoy! We have been dining at this restaurant for years and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. The food is delicious, with the octopus being a standout dish in the area. It is always a pleasant surprise when the nonna who makes the pasta stops by our table to say hello. This restaurant is a must-add to your list of regular dinner spots.
