Used to frequent this cafe at Uni alot, until recently. The quality and variety of the food is nice, however, the constantly escalating cost of the meals made it unreasonable on a student budget to eat there. After asking for a student discount, I was told by a female staff member that there was no student discount AFTER 9.30am. Ummm, what tha??? Is that because there are actual students in there after 9.30am? I finally got my student discount of 5%... which was not worth it. SO I am sorry, but I cannot afford to eat here. Most students on a tight budget cannot eat here. Disappointing.
Discreetly tucked in among the buildings of RMIT, this cafe serves good food for breakfast and lunch and in the morning and afternoon. The cafe has indoor and outdoor spaces which are both good and generally quiet even when busy.The food is a draw card for the mainly RMIT staff customers. It is relatively healthy and wholesome and good quality.The service is friendly and efficient.A nice relatively quiet place for a catchup or quick lunch especially outside on a good weather day!
Within the grounds of RMIT, this is a great little Cafe with lots of seating that looks to be used by students and staff. Seating is plentiful both inside and out and there are lots of options to eat from (e.g. salads, soups, rolls, etc), and makes good coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Service was quick too which helps when time is limited. I would recommend.
Pearson & Murphy's is located at the RMIT University city campus and is popular for the lunchtime crowd. I was here with work friends and had beef arancini and salad and was able to sit outside and enjoy the sun and company. The coffee is top quality and there are a wide range of other lunchtime selections, cakes, etc.

Not really the heart of Melbourne but there is something different and special about student venues - a good comfortable café full of students and lecturers - a little expensive but if you are at the RMIT for meetings, it is too far to go back to mainstream Melbourne for food or coffee.
If you're in the heart of Melbourne near the campus of RMIT University- then Pearson and Murphy''s Cafe offers a pleasant and welcome atmosphere for coffee, tea, sandwiches and other and snacks. Its full of academics and students but it deserves to be better known.
Perfect place to have a drink or bite to eat in between classes at uni if you are studying at RMIT University, it's between the buildings on bowen st n the Melbourne goal. U will see a cafe sign clearly showing this hidden gem spot.
went to this little café on my last trip to Melbourne and I enjoyed my time. coffee was good and the lunch also. the atmosphere is cute and relaxing. it's a good spot for a coffee or drink - to chat or for a meeting.

A bit tucked away near the rear of the Old Melb jail. P&M is a break from the traditional Uni cafe scene and offers good coffee and breakfast. Great meeting point on campus
This place gets really busy during the dayThe specials are good if you're on a student budget, but be prepared to wait in line.
