I visited this Peet's location on a Saturday evening around 7 PM. It’s tucked away in one of the corners of Fairfax Corner Mall. Just to be upfront, I prefer Peet's coffee over Starbucks, and I generally enjoy the atmosphere of their cafés more. I’m a coffee lover and usually drink it black; I’m not a big fan of lattes. My usual choices are mochas, cappuccinos, or just plain coffee with some sugar. On this visit, I had a Havana Cappuccino, which is made with espresso and condensed milk, and I also picked up a Harvest Honey Latte for my partner. I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. An employee started calling people to leave at 5:45 PM, telling everyone they needed to exit because the place was closing in just 15 minutes. He was even standing by the door, staring at me, waiting for me to close my laptop and leave. It was only 6:00 PM—there was no need to rush us out like that. I've worked in hospitality and understand the importance of respecting customers. Just because the staff wanted to leave earlier doesn't give them the right to treat patrons dismissively. Very poor customer service.
I enjoyed the atmosphere, but unfortunately, the products didn't quite meet my expectations. My chai latte was decent—it was warm but not hot, and it did the trick. However, I’ve definitely had better lattes elsewhere; this one was rather plain and almost a bit watered down. My cinnamon scone was similarly unremarkable. It tasted good, but again, it was just average and nothing to get excited about.
I have to say, I'm truly impressed with the Holiday Spice Latte. The flavors and spices are fantastic! It really warmed me up and has now become my favorite holiday coffee. Absolutely delicious! I stopped by this place while taking a walk and ordered a small Yuzu Citrus Black Tea Shaker. It was a bit pricey, but definitely refreshing. I've also tried their cold brew, and as someone who appreciates coffee flavors, I found it to be much better than Starbucks.
The food arrived quickly, especially since this was my first experience with DoorDash and dining at Peet's! The sandwiches and coffee were hot and delicious. I will definitely order again!
I really enjoy the frittatas, but I think the restaurant should avoid putting warm dishes next to cold ones. The croissant seemed a bit small. On a positive note, the frappe was excellent!
