The quality of food is average compared to Malaysian Penang standards. The mee goreng was not the traditional type you would expect, more similar to Char Kway Teow with noodles instead. It was overly salty due to heavy soy sauce. The Har Mee was average in taste and portion size, but lacked the usual accompaniments like egg and special chili sauce. The curry chicken was decent, similar to what is used in Laksa but not as diluted. The Loh Bak was also average. Overall, the food would be acceptable for those unfamiliar with Penang cuisine. I came to eat here twice. The first time I didn’t think it was great. The second time, just today I ordered a nasi lemak special. It was not heated properly as the chicken was cold no big deal as they re microwaved it. The diced chicken was bland and the ikan bilis has light sugar on it, otherwise tasteless. The rice was a bit soggy. , The taste seems to be a very water down version of real nasi lemak. The food is passable if you are not a Malaysian used to authentic Malaysian food. Do not order here. Ordered takeaway which didn't get delivered. The restaurant was very unhelpful and forced us to deal with the delivery company. Made no effort to help. The friendly atmosphere generated by the original family owned operation has disappeared, the cooking style is not the same and has now more Chinese influence, having said that I will still return, but this happened when new chef's are not identical to the past.
Malaysian food lovers, rejoice! This is it to your quest for best authentic Malaysian food. Not only true to its taste, the serve is massive with quick service. Decor is non pretending but who cares if the food is that great! Will come back soon.
