Lol. I dont know if i should laugh or cry. My husband and I used to be huge fans of Penn Queen. Prime rib was our favorite. Then about 7 months back we showed up for dinner and were told we dont carry any more prime rib due to its price we left and hoped one day they would bring it back. Today I decided to go again. No prime rib again so I ordered a stake and shrimp meal. And my sister in law also order the same. 15 minutes later we were told, we are sorry we dont have any steaks can we offer you a burguer or something if I wanted a burguer MC donald would have been a better choice. But any ways I asked what items from the menu were actually available and the lady responded everything else....
The server didn't introduce herself, forgot to bring creamers for our coffee, neglected to provide straws, and even after I reminded her, she still didn't bring them. In the end, we never received any straws. When it was clear we had leftovers (three huge pancakes and some hash browns), the server just dropped our check on the table with a brief comment that we could pay at the front. We waited about five minutes for her to return so we could ask for a box. She was nice, but didn't seem very skilled at her job. It was horrible I had wire inside my chicken Parm the silverware were dirty as well as the plates. It must be new owners I will never go back there. The waiter Christine dismissed are presence as if we were not sitting there waiting on our order to come out. It was a three people in there , and when a white couple came in she totally ignored our presence there, I keep calling her and laso put my hand up in jesters by no response she even sat down and had a whole conversation with the couple as if we didn't matter. Worse service ever. They need to close down this place or get new owners that care about all races. I said what I said. If the true hurts it is what it is. Don't go there horrible....
my wife grew up here. they went after the church and special occasions after penn queen for Sunday brunch. as an adult she and our children get the same feeling of joy to come here. if they like the family atmosphere of the family, they can get it here. this place has some of the best diner foods that we have tasted to the most favorable trips. very good food and fast friendly service. the place has not changed since year and never disappointed them. the prices are great with everything else here and the overall experience is great. just a good old fashion dinner.
I only eat breakfast once a week and it is prepared typically by me. I ordered pancakes and bacon. Pancakes were cold and bacon hard. I paid and left a nice tip as the server was pleasant and friendly. Will not go back.
I really enjoy visiting Pen Queen Diner; the food is fantastic. The waitstaff are always quick to serve, ensuring everything is served hot. I've had several conversations with the owner, and she is very delightful.
