I decided to give the takeaway coffee at Perilla another try three times after my previous review and their response. I'm happy to report that the takeaway coffees are now being filled properly! A big thank you to the Perilla team for addressing my comments. I'm updating my rating to 5 stars for their consistent improvement and responsiveness to customer feedback. Thank you! The food is fantastic; we especially enjoy the Pho, Laksa, and Vermicelli Bowl! The staff is also very nice and friendly. However, I want to mention that the takeaway coffee was previously filled below the brim, which happened to us a couple of times and felt a bit unfair. I hope the store continues to work on this!
We stayed at Oaks North Ryde last night and their on site restaurant was so awful so we tried Perillas for dine in breakfast today and it was pretty good, well priced. We just had the Bacon Egg roll Egg roll and coffees, and the coffee was really good especially the Vietnamese coffee, I only wish it wasn’t served in a plastic cup with plastic straw. The bread roll was a bit much though, like a Banh Mi roll, I’d prefer if you could choose normal lightly toasted bread. Great service, very attentive ladies. Kind of nice to just sit and enjoy people watching here as you’re eating. Right next to the train station, but you don’t hear the train at all which is nice.
I visited this restaurant twice with my omnivorous family, and I was surprised to find that the vegan banh mi I remembered wasn't on the menu. The only vegan option available was a modified version of the Vermicelli bowl, which was decent. The waitstaff, however, were incredibly helpful; I asked for the usual fish sauce to be replaced with sweet chili sauce, and the server happily accommodated my request. The early rolls were good, featuring an interesting and fabulous curved design. Overall, though, I left feeling disappointed by the limited options. I think it's a shame that they don't offer more variety.
If you're seeking a charming, cozy café with fantastic food at a great price, Perilla is the place for you. Everything from their coffee to breakfast and meals is delicious. It's conveniently located just beneath my apartment and is always my favorite spot. With restrictions lifting on Monday, you'll also be able to enjoy their lovely outdoor seating area!

I had tea during an interview about the road. The menu has a vegan bah mi sandwich, but I'm not sure if the mayo is vegan since it's not specified. Maybe they ask about it before you place your order. It was on the lunch menu, so I couldn't try it since I was there between 8:30 and 9:00.
The only thing I would want to change is the opening hours so that I can get my coffee at 5 am. Absolutely great coffee and the barista is so efficient with the orders without sacrificing quality. its amazing to watch her work. So hard to do but she smashes it out of the park!,
This is a wonderful little cafe-restaurant. They offer vegetarian options that can easily be made vegan. The waitstaff are knowledgeable about what is vegan, but it's a good idea to ask for confirmation. I had the tofu and avocado banh mi, and it was fantastic!
The food and size proportions are great. Highly recommend the vermicelli bowl as it's very filling and has a bit of everything. Only downside of this place is the parking is difficult to find in the area.
