Walking down Petaling Street, with a light head and tired feet, The Dear Luncher and family decided to dine in at the Carnegie branch of Petaling Street. On a hot Melbourne day, the restaurant provided comfort and air conditioning. The menu was extensive, maybe even too extensive, with multiple laminated A3 documents to choose from. Despite feeling overwhelmed by the choices, the group ordered pan fried pork dumplings, Char kway teow, and Beef Rendang with rice. The dumplings were fried to perfection and the Char kway teow was delicious, with Mrs. Luncher only wishing for more prawns. The Beef Rendang was aromatic and served beautifully on a bed of lettuce. Overall, the experience was pleasa...

I popped in for a quick lunch mid week it didn't disappoint. The BBQ meat in the window lured me in, so I chose 2 types of BBQ meat in my noodle soup. The amount of food that came out was a lot! The crispy pork was super tasty, and the duck was delicious. The broth was simple, but good. I didn't eat too many noodles as I needed stomach real estate for the meat- however they were slightly chewy and lovely. My whole giant meal was under $14 and I would eat there again. The decor was basic, but clean. I could imagine when it's busy that it'd be a really noisy restaurant as the whole interior is tiled. The service was friendly efficient, and the complimentary tea was a good temperature to drink.

They used to have a CBD outlet back in 2016 but unfortunately, it closed down. I always liked the food at Petaling St, way way better than PappaRich. Pretty decent Malaysian food honestly, it’s like those Chinese dai chow/chau type of restaurants <br/ <br/ I really loved their marmite chicken Big pieces of chicken with crunchy skin absolute bomb (probably prefer this than the ones we get in Malaysia where the chicken pieces are tiny no crunchy skin)<br/ <br/ Visited in February 2019

The food at this restaurant is always delicious, with large portions and unbeatable prices. You can easily order one dish to share between two people. I recommend trying the roast chicken with egg noodles or any of the barramundi dishes. Don't forget to save room for the delicious ice kacang dessert. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

I visited this restaurant for a fast lunch with my coworkers. The Hainan Chicken Rice was a bit dry, but the combination roast rice was excellent. I would suggest the combination rice to a friend. I will definitely be visiting this area more frequently since my work will be starting here soon.

Everything is so cheap, big portion you can even take away for tomorrow’s lunch. The food was so good, with a lot of varieties. The fish with rice for dinner is a bargain. Very tasty Malaysian food with a bit of a mixture of Chinese, Thai, Indian, Singapore, a bit of everything

Delicious late afternoon lunch, roast combo of duck, BBQ pork, and roast pork with dry noodles was delicious, also had special fried rice and tofu hot pot. We ordered pork dumplings which I would give a miss. Carnegie street is pretty cool place with lots of restaurants

Love their food and this signature petaling Street fish, the rice was a nasi goreng, can’t wait to go there again. The staff is friendly and efficient. Definitely worth the wait because the food arrives pretty quick. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

This place is exactly what it says it is. Maylasian street food. Nothing fancy, inexpensive and yummy. Service is basic but quick. Since I live near by I will definitely be going back.<br/
