On the small rue des Zephyrs, just behind the touristy Quai des Martyrs de la Liberation, is the totally interesting Petite Marie. Run by a husband and wife couple, named after their granddaughter and featuring several signs of grand-parental pride (something with which we can easily identify), this small restaurant attracts a diverse clientele with an abiding interest in langoustines. We dined there on Thursday Oct. 4, 2012, were the only English speakers present, and had a great time. My plate was heaped to overflowing with grilled and herbed langoustines; Our interractions with the owners and other patrons was very positive. A highlight of our time in Bastia! Go there.
We stopped with my wife at random despite negative opinions, and very great surprise!!! We took the pane of langoustines: verdict the plates are full to crack, cooking is very perfect as the seasoning of them. And all this served with a plate of homemade fries. Our children took a child menu with pepits and homemade fries with an ice ball, and we even offered a ham pizza if the children wanted it. Even the kitchen came to talk to us. Anyway, very good surprise.
The David and Ben Seeds are very nice, coming. Flats: very good pesentation and, delicious. Desserts: Profiteroles very good. Mean on the melt at the cataigne, too sweet I couldn't finish it. For the rest, we'd just go back to mourning.
