We had made reservations at another restaurant that evening, but they had some equipment problems and didn't tell us that they were closed that night until we arrived. The chef/owner recommended Petrarum Domus, but maybe only did that because it was one of the few...restaurants open. There were 3 tables with customers, so the service should have been good. It started okay, but by the end of the evening, they wanted us to leave and started banging around in the kitchen and bar, turning off lights, and didn't offer us dessert, an after-dinner drink, or anything, even though there was another couple still eating (dessert, brandy, and coffee). We went here for dinner. Service took a long time, seemingly understaffed with just one waiter and one chef. Drink order was incorrect. Meals did not come with all ingredients listed on the menu. Waiter brought cheeses, breads and dips without explaining that these were paid for individually if you had any. Luckily we didn’t touch them until we asked. The fish was really not that great and had lots of bones. Try another restaurant. There are better quality places nearby.
Have tried it 2 times. Both times... wait staff not great, starters ok, mains just didn't taste good. Tried the bacalhao (cod), the bitok (steak with egg), and another fish dish with spinach. Even the wedge fries with the steak were bad... reheated. Frankly the only good items were starters... grill chorizo and the bread/cheese.
Pelos visto houve uma mudança de gerencia e não correu da melhor forma. Os pratos são servidos com a mesma qualidade mas infelizmente em menor quantidade, tipo gourmet . We had lovely waiter, Dave, he was so accommodating and kind and he offered us place outside as we were with the 2 dogs. Food was certainly very fresh and tasty we had tuba stake and cod shreds but I forgot to take a picture: I would come back for sure.
Such a nice experience. Beautiful restaurant and wonderful food. Service was friendly and helpful, not pushy just right. Food was delicious and the tuna steak was delicious. Great evening!
