Absolutely delicious! I visited for lunch on Friday afternoon and found it difficult to choose from the mouthwatering menu options. In the end, I decided on the combo plate featuring chopped pork and sliced brisket. The brisket did come with an additional charge, but it was totally worth it. The plate also includes a choice of two sides along with hush puppies. I chose mac and cheese and coleslaw. The mac and cheese was fantastic, and I would definitely order it again, though I might opt for a different side instead of coleslaw next time. If you're in the area, this place is definitely worth a visit!
We stopped here for lunch on a long trip. I ordered the sliders, which featured pulled pork, chicken, and beef. Each had a nice hickory flavor, but they were a bit dry for my taste. The barbecue sauces didn't really impress. However, the homemade chips that accompanied the meal were definitely the highlight. Unfortunately, the rolls were quite bland. While Phil's may not be exceptional in a competitive barbecue landscape, it's a convenient choice for travelers. Additionally, they have a spacious outdoor terrace for enjoying the summer weather.

We ordered ribs and a meat sampler that included pulled pork, chicken, and sliced brisket. The staff was very helpful and accommodating, and while we opted for takeout, the interior of the restaurant had a really cool vibe.
We stumbled upon this place on our way home from Florida. We thoroughly enjoyed our self. The barbecue was fantastic. The portions were very good. The atmosphere is eclectic and cool. The barbecue sauce choices were fantastic. We bought several to gohome with. I hope I get a chance to come back again but it is 1000 miles from our house. While it may not be the top contender, Phil's BBQ is still a solid choice. Asheville has some fierce competition in the BBQ scene, with renowned spots like 12 Bones and Okie Dokies nearby. Phil's offers good food and service, with particularly tasty meat and a delicious pulled pork sandwich. Although it doesn't quite reach the level of 12 Bones or Okie Dokies, it's certainly a better option than fast food.
We may have gone on a bad day, but both my husband and I were disappointed with the chopped brisket sandwich. The bun was not soft, and the meat had an overpowering flavor of liquid smoke. The hush puppies were tough as well. Although my husband liked his baked beans, my fried okra was also quite tough. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.
This restaurant serves some of the best pulled pork, pulled chicken, ribs, and BBQ baked beans I’ve ever tasted. They even add pulled chicken to their salads! It's hard to find such delicious BBQ at such a great price. On top of that, they have a wide selection of cold beers to enjoy.

I really enjoyed the chopped pork and the sides; everything was great, and I have no complaints whatsoever. I will definitely be coming back for another visit!
