We had the worst experience. First, the service was great, our server put up with all of our complaints with grace and humour. But the restaurant was empty which should have been my first clue that something was wrong.The market vegetable was green and yellow beans. They were obviously not cooked from fresh, they were like frozen veg, very rubbery and many were brown and rotting. My steak was overcooked and tough.When I sent it back, the manager came,and took my meal off the bill, discounted my husbands and brought free salads. She said they were cooking cauliflower/broccoli for us. This came with a small piece of corn added as well. I found huge black spots on the cauliflower, The broccoli...
We saw the restaurant on the horizon and decided to have dinner last. Just the three of us, 2 adults one 11 year old. I decided on the Chicken and Waffles; wasn't completely horrible, but the chicken was I think, over cooked and over spiced. (and maybe my fault but i was expecting white meat and I suspect it was thigh, which I don't normally eat or like). Hubby had the Pesto Chicken Pasta which he said was ok. But he did need to add salt, pepper and Parmesan to flavour. (And could be for other reasons, but has had an upset digestive system since). Our pre-teen ordered the stuffed French Toast dish which again was ok, but the strawberries were not fresh they were a frozen variety in a syrup....
The Pickle Barrel chain does a good job of ensuring that each of their locations is modern, unique, and dependable. The Pickle Barrel in Newmarket is no exception. The restaurant is attractive, offering a variety of seating areas that range from open to private; the menu is robust, offering a variety of styles and options; the food is well-prepared, offering both quality and taste, as well as attractive presentation. Finally, the service is always terrific: the waiting staff is friendly, courteous, and attentive.
It's close to work so it seems we are coming here more often than I would like for lunch social activitiesNew jobs, good bye lunches, birthdays, etc.

My wife and I enjoy dining at this restaurant. I particularly like the Hanoi stir fry, the good attitude of the servers and the pleasant atmosphere.

Came here on a Wednesday for lunch, around 12 pmIt's close to work so I guess that's something, but that's about it.
This location is too hot or miss for me. One time all is good and the next terrible. I will not go back to this location.
A little disjointed. The staff have clearly been instructed to ask in at any table but the following up is sadly lacking.
