I would only recommend this restaurant if your server is Jose. This was our 41st wedding anniversary and I was so looking forward to having dinner here. My husband and I have been here several times before for dinner and our server was always Jose. While they are known for slow service, Jose always checked with us if we needed anything or even to clean the crumbs off our table. The server we had on this particular occasion was awful! SHE delivered a pitcher of sangria with 2 glasses, which I did not ask for, I only wanted a glass of sangria. My things time at this restaurant (nice service and ambiance) but unfortunately this time around food was not best quality. We found the calamari, sword fish steak and scallop dishes to be equally chewy rather than soft and easily edible. The couple at table right next to ours had a similar complaint. Would give them another shot. Hopefully food quality improves.
Unfortunately, our experience was not very good. People who were seated after us, were waited on before we were. We had to ask for menus, bread plates, drinks... Our server seemed to have too many tables. When our food finally arrived, the seafood was mostly overcooked and the skirt steak was tough. Sadly, we not be returning.
Food was mediocre at best, my girl friend had shrimp stuffed with what was supposed to be crabmeat, don't know what it was. My paella was bland and the piece of lobster was disintegrating like it was previously frozen. Would not go back.

We took a break from Pier 95 as we thought the food quality was declining. I think we’ll take another break. I felt as if my fish was doused with butter.
Everything about Pier 95 was outstanding. The food and service was impeccable and the beautiful view of the canal made our experience wonderful.
