I have been visiting Aberystwyth Pier for many years and have even witnessed the construction of this bar area. Today, I tried to place an order but watched as 6 people were served before me. When I asked the female bar staff if I would be served, I was told that my attitude was not acceptable and that I would not be served. I was also told that no one had noticed me, despite being a 6ft 2 black man who is hard to miss. Even though the bar was not busy when I was waiting, I was purposefully ignored as 6 other customers were served before me. Myself and a couple of friends went for lunch here as we hadn’t been there since it has been done up. The place looks great , hence my 3 star rating but the menu is very basic and no option for gluten free ! The food we had was ok but we were very disappointed that it was served in a box with wooden cutlery ! Shame as it does look lovely inside but if we wanted to eat our food this way we would have gone across the road to the chippy ! Can’t imagine how much rubbish you must have each week, not good for the environment either , we won’t be rushing back there as there are lots of lovely places to eat in aber that serve food on a plate with proper cutlery!
I dined at this restaurant tonight with my mother, two sons, and a well-behaved Jack Russell. Our dog behaved perfectly during the meal, but when she barked twice at a seagull outside the window, a very rude staff member told us to control her as it was disturbing other diners. When we asked if anyone had actually complained, the answer was no. The chips were terrible and there were no vegetarian options available. It was a waste of money and upsetting for the whole family to be spoken to in such a rude manner. We will not be returning. If dogs are not allowed to make noise, they should not be allowed in the restaurant at all.
At first glance, the restaurant may not seem special from the outside and could use a renovation. However, once inside, you'll find several pool tables, table tennis, and plenty of seating areas where you can enjoy the delicious fish and chips from their small but well-curated menu. My family met here for a meal, with my parents traveling an hour south and us coming from an hour north to meet for lunch. The experience was fantastic and the food was amazing. The fish and chips were the best we've had, especially when paired with the delicious curry sauce and tartar sauce.

I visited with my Mom,Sister, Brother in law and Husband. We had a lovely Sunday lunch, my self, my sister and mother had lamb, my husband had trio of meats and brother in law had beef. The ladies followed by the roulade very nice. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The only thing I could complain about was the mint sauce it was very watery and didn’t taste of anything much.(that’s just me being picky). We all had a great experience would definitely return.
This place is located at the back of the Royal Pier near the seafront. The staff were very friendly and helpful all the time. The food and service was excellent! The first time we had Fish chips there it was cooked perfectly! We went there twice to eat Fish Chips as we loved it so much! It has great views overlooking the sea and you can watch the beautiful sunset each evening. I would highly recommend this place to people.
Terrible customer service. Went to the bar to order food and drinks, the young girl at the bar had a foul attitude towards us and suggested that we went elsewhere for food. Other customers also said how vile the girls attitude was and said she acted the same towards them. Would never go back here. Don’t know how you can speak to customers like that absolutely disgusting.
Great views and friendly staff. Food was average. The kids had fish and chips, I had a fish sandwich and my wife had the chicken fajitas. Chips were nice, the fish not great quite mushy and pretty sure it was from the freezer not fresh. Fajitas contained cut up chicken escalopes as opposed to freshly cooked chicken breast, but tasted okay.

Terrible experience waited over an hour for my food to then been told it’s been behind the bar for 20 minutes because they had lost my order number, staff were very unprofessional
Fantastic fish and chips but you have to pay for sauces extra. definitely worth s visit if your in Aberystwyth Staff friendly very vledn and tidy sitdown fish and chip restaurant
