Just had a very expensive night out at this Italian restaurant in Beckenham. When we got there we were welcomed and taken to our table by a very friendly restaurant manager. We had the Christmas menu and to say it was disappointing was an understatement. They had this weird concept where you order what you want for each course but then it gets served as some kind of sharing experience. We had chewy squid, a salad with soggy croutons and 2 mozzarella balls with arma ham between 6 of us. The main course was even worse. My partner and I visited this restaurant for the first time and were seated at a table near the bar. We were disappointed with the service as our drinks were overpriced and we were charged for starters that never arrived. We also received an extra beer that we didn't order. The portions of pasta we received were small and not very good, for which we ultimately paid £100. This will be our last visit to this establishment. I would normally only leave a positive review or no review. But I feel very strongly about my experience and feel that people literally need 'warning ' about what happened to us. I ordered a veal chop and got a breaded veal escalope (not on the menu), without any discussion. I politely offered to pay but wanted the pan fried liver in butter, white wine and onions instead. I then promptly received pan fried liver in what I was told white wine balsamic (also not on the menu). When I asked the manager (who when asked his name wouldn 't tell me), why I had received 2 x dishes that i hadnt ordered and that weren 't on the menu I was fed more rubbish. The food at this restaurant is exceptional, but what really sets it apart is the cozy, home-like atmosphere and the incredible Italian staff. The attention to detail is evident in everything, from the uniformed bar staff expertly making cocktails to the delicious coffee they serve. This has become my go-to spot for coffee. The staff are all top-notch and the restaurant is perfect for a fine dining experience or a family outing. If you’re looking to eat your meal with a DJ blasting out scratch music then this is the place for you. No chance of having a normal conversation. We were there on a Saturday night and the place was full of young people partying. If this is your scene then fine but as an older group of friends we picked the wrong place. .Food was quite nice but top prices and remarkably small portions. My husband came home and made a sandwich. Do your research before booking.
I arrived at this restaurant to a warm friendly welcome. The staff are so friendly and accommodating, we felt like VIP’s. The food was delicious and took me back to family holidays in Italy. The decor was warm, cosy, smart and clean. I will be returning to celebrate my birthday in November with family and friends. Keep up the excellent work you deliver to your customers.
From the minute you walk in, you feel like you have walked into a restaurant in Italy. They staff are so friendly and attentive, you are looked after the minute you step into the door The decor is very smart and clean. The food was excellent, I will be returning and bringing friends and family.
Thank you for making my mother’s birthday, so special. Was a lovely surprise to see a summer lunch set menu which was perfect for our group which was also great value for money. Well all i can say is wow! We went for a company meal on Friday night and the night was impeccable. We were a large group but were looked after very well by the staff especially Maria, the food was delicious and the drinks even better we will definitely be retuning.
