My wife was attracted to the slate outside which said there were vegetarian options, so we booked there and then. The Citadel is a bit of a walk from where we were staying, and its uphill too and as it started to rain quite heavily we pondered cancelling and going somewhere else. Being brave souls we persevered and were rewarded by a warm, friendly welcome, quick service and a not too expensive menu. The onion tart was worth the wet walk according to my wife, and she was happy we'd continued up the hill. The owner is very nice. Food a bit disappointing. Our plates were fries with fish. The fish was overcooked, and the sauce had little taste. It was not terrible, but would expect better in a restaurant. Altough not sure, the desert appeared to me like a piece of cake from the supermarket, with a scoup of icecream from the supermarket and some whipped cream from the supermarket.

There were 4 of us for dinner and we were the first in which looked like a good move on our part because it very soon filled up. The gentleman serving us, on his own! was welcoming and service was excellent. Food was just lovely and for me, a good veggie plat du jour option.

Typically French restaurant, basic but very good. Lots of French ate when we were there which is always a good sign. €27.90 3 course meal was very good value and great quality. Photos attached small fruit de mer, steak and dessert.

It’s what you expect from a meal, well made but nothing special. Recommend for price/quality and friendly service. Kids were offered a free icecream.
