As we entered the Pig and Whistle we was greeted by a lovely gentleman who explaon the processes of ordering the food very well. He was very professional and bubbly which made us feel very welcome. As we found a table we then proceeded to order our food, we went for the carverys. When waiting in line I saw two men being served by the carver, they had asked if any more beef was being brought out and they said sorry no this is all we have left. One of the men went and the other one was putting the veg on his plate, then a big joint of beef was brought out, the man asked if he could have some seeing as there was tiny scrap bits left and the carver refused to give this man any, even though I hea...
During my meal, I witnessed a woman with young children and a baby ask a male waiter to get some meat for her from the carvery deck. Despite waiting for 10 minutes, the waiter remained in line, not using his common sense to expedite the process. Frustrated, the woman eventually asked the waitresses if it would take much longer. After waiting another 5 minutes, she demanded a refund and returned to her table. The waiter seemed amused by the situation, while the waitresses complained about being tired from college.

menu was not clear or specific and the interior is all damaged, there were rips in the seats, a stain on the pool table and no straws for drinks. They also had an offer for two courses but barely any option on the courses and didn’t specify it has to be a starter and main or a main and desert, the food arrive either very fast or very late and was very overpriced, definitely not worth the money, my friend ordered a burger and the salad was a single piece of lettuce. staff were nice though not returning again
First time I’ve been here for a long time, and I was impressed. My wife and I went for a traditional carvery with a couple of pints of Wainwrights. The food was excellent and very well priced. Although the place was quite busy we didn’t really have to queue and all of the staff were friendly. Disabled access would be fine. All in all, a great meal, and I’m sure we will return soon Highly recommended.

Booked hoping to enjoy the Christmas Carvery. Arrived to find no mention anywhere in the pub of Christmas Carvery, no special set menu of Xmas Fayre. We ordered regular food from the everyday menu, which as pretty standard for this type of pub bland served cold. There was mess everywhere from previous customers and tables were not clean.
The carvery at this restaurant had fantastic food with a variety of delicious meats cooked just the way I liked. There was also a great selection of perfectly cooked vegetables. The service was excellent, and the table seating was comfortable. The parking situation was also great.
Had trouble booking the Pig and Whistle as it was fully booked on Boxing Day but the manager managed to fit me in which I was very grateful for. The staff were wonderful especially David and Scarlett. I visit here on a regular basis as I find I can relax here with no bother.
I went with a friend to have breakfast at a carvery, and it was perfect! The eggs were cooked perfectly, the sausages and bacon were good, and the hash browns were lovely too. All of this added to a nice, relaxed atmosphere in a very clean pub.

Beckie was fantastic behind the bar lovely smile n friendly unfortunately had to wait an hour for the carvery but she said you can order a takeaway absolutely top girl got my takeaway really enjoyed well done beckie at the pig n whistle preston
Just love this place and am a regular visitor. There are lots of offers on the app now so well worth downloading. Not every where gives you a free meal! Basically I would miss the carvery if it was not available.
