Not having a chance for breakfast that day we saw the Pioneer and decided to try it for an early lunch ... we were NOT disappointed. The restaurant has been there for over 50 years in the same location, and yes, the decor and layout is still the same but the food was exceptional; it's still like the "one-of" family restaurants of yesteryear where the owner (usually Mom & Pop) took great pride in serving good home-cooked food at a very respectable price.The staff were friendly and it seems to be a meeting place for the local people who seem to frequent often; although 'out-of-towners', we were treated with friendliness and courtesy and a sincere concern that we were enjoying our visit. This restaurant is over 50 years old and it looks it, but don't let the decor deter you. The portions are huge for the price and the food is tasty! I had the Pioneer Gyro with a side salad. When the plate arrived, the meal looked really plain, but it was yum! Very flavourful greek sauce on the salad and tzaziki sauce on the gyro. The bread with the gyro had this buttery goodness! The staff were friendly, but the service left a little to be desired. Coffee didn't come with cream and toast didn't come with jam/butter. They mopped the floors right next to our table while we were there so the stench of wet floor was a bit unsettling, not to mention hella dangerous (we saw the waitress almost sli...
Great little eatery. Old fashioned look and feel, in a diner setting. Food quality however is second to none. Seems to me like a family run place, who have pride in their food. The place is out of date, and this may turn of some patrons. But the food is plentiful, and of good quality. We are regulars and plan to go back.

This is a polish deli Ok let's begin They have cold cuts, fresh sauerkraut and pickles that you can scoop yourself Lots of polish condiments.
Throw back in time! Great food and value. It is so nice to support the local ( non franchise) restaurant. It has been there since 1950!!!!
