Super disappointed! Pita pit used to be amazing and incredible however tonight..was horrible. We were served by a blonde haired kid along with a brown haired kid. Throwing stuff around, throwing pens, dropping pens, etc. We got kicked out of the dining at 5:51pm saying the dining area closed at that time in the middle of my meal. There was lettuce and tomato and trash on the floor at 2 different tables super gross. Not to mention my boyfriend asked for buffalo sauce on his pita..got teriyaki, we didn?t want to bother telling the kids as they were already visibly in a bad mood. Pita Pit is absolutely delicious! Their food is not only fresh and healthy, but it's also prepared right in front of you. Personally, I love ordering the rice bowls, while my wife prefers the pitas. I usually go for a falafel rice bowl, adding all the grilled veggies they have and seasoning it with cajun spice. Their sauces, especially the jalapeño-based shug sauce, are fantastic as well. Pita Pit is absolutely delicious! Not only is the food healthy and fresh, but everything is prepared right in front of you. Personally, I enjoy ordering a rice dish, while my wife prefers the pitas. I typically go for the falafel rice bowl and add any grilled vegetables they have seasoned with Cajun spices. I also love their sauces, especially the Schugsauce with its jalapeño base. This was our first visit to Pita Pit, and we really liked the idea of creating our own pita. The menu was a bit confusing at first, but the two staff members on duty offered us a quick explanation, even though we only had 15 minutes to eat before closing time. I ordered the chicken breast with tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, feta cheese, and ranch dressing. I would have preferred a yogurt-based dressing, but it was still delicious. I really enjoy the food at this restaurant and generally appreciate the service as well. However, during my most recent visit, I was informed that the dining room was closing in 20 minutes, so we weren't allowed to sit there. Fortunately, we found a nice area nearby where we could sit and enjoy our meal.
The staff is friendly when taking orders and handling transactions, and they even suggest some of their personal favorites. I wish there were more places like this in Iowa.
