I was unexpectedly charged a 3% Happy Healthy surcharge on my bill at this restaurant. If I hadn't checked my receipt, I wouldn't have realized I was being charged extra. When I called to inquire about this charge, I was told it was for the employees' 401k plan. While I support the idea of a 401k plan for employees, I believe it should be the responsibility of the employer, not the customers. The prices at this restaurant are already high, so the burden of funding employee benefits should not fall on the customers. We absolutely adore Pitfire Pizza. Although we usually visit the one near our home, which is fantastic, we decided to try the location in Marina Del Rey while in town. We were not disappointed. We have visited twice now - once for takeout and once to dine in - and both times were wonderful experiences. The pizza is top-notch, as it is at all of their locations. The service is exceptional and they are very efficient. When you order a pizza for takeout, it will be ready for you as soon as you arrive. We go here at 6 PM on the 2nd Monday of every month for a meeting. We have tried most of their food. Their cooking is inconsistent. We have had burned pizza, undercooked sweet potatoes, and food with too much and too little salt. If they get it right, though, the recipes are delicious. Their service is also inconsistent. We always ask for water, and we sometimes get it. The music is loud, and the sun glares through the big, west-facing windows. Of late, we eat elsewhere and only order beer and lemonade to drink during our gathering.
The chicken meatball spaghetti was bland, the cheese knots were burnt, and the grilled artichoke was overly watery. The adult Arnold Palmer was watered down and had to be requested, while the hibiscus strawberry lemonade was lacking in hibiscus flavor. The only positive note was the house salad, which was the best dish we tried. The waitress initially brought only one napkin for two people, and the temperature inside the restaurant was uncomfortably cold. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and we will not be returning.

I used to love their pizza but every time I order it the crust is a little burnt, so today I specifically asked them not to burn it cause it’s my favorite part of the pizza. Well the pizza was so burned it was inedible, something like this SHOULD NOT leave the kitchen!!! This is NOT edible. I am so mad, never ordering again and telling everyone not to order from this place. Very sad, because their ingredients are good, but apparently they can’t tell when a pizza is so burned it shouldn’t be served. Embarrassing
I’ve actually never had a bad pizza from here- our favorite is the mushroom pizza and I’ve had almost all the pizzas here. I also enjoyed the buffalo wings, which was interesting because it was essentially small pieces of chicken not far from Chik-Fil-A sizes for the chicken bites. I would also add that the service is great which paired with the pizza takes this to 5 stars. I would detract a star for the salads but for everything else, I am a big fan.
First time dining in this restaurant. The place was full but I must say that we did not wait too long for our food. The seasonal watermelon and cucumber salad was light and had a nice kick. The little gem Caesar salad was lightly dressed and was not too salty. The pesto chicken pizza was delicious. All thumbs up for the rich umami field mushroom pizza. There was no room for dessert. This is a good place to go when craving pizza!
I was pleasantly surprised by how addictive the taste was! This is one of the best pizzas I've ever had anywhere in the world! This place is underrated and definitely deserves more recognition for their perfectly executed Neapolitan pizza. Once you try it, you won't want pizza from anywhere else!

Disturbing to say the least. I had been convinced there was no good pizza in California. Then I found this place. We paid for our food and drinks, they brought it to us, we ate it, we left, and my opinion has changed. Best time ever.
Pizza arrived late and extremely cold and had to be reheated. Cheese tasted artificial.salad was ok. Will not buy again ever. Not worth the price. Spoiled family treat.
