Having eaten at this establish countless times before during my childhood, it seemed the perfect place to remedy the vestiges of alcohol in our system from the night before. Eagerly, my friends and I downloaded the Pizza Express app, a clever scheme by the restaurant to encourage students such as ourselves to visit the restaurant given the billion pound debt faced by the company. My friends both enjoyed a free dough ball dish for signing up whilst I refrained from ordering due to lack of appetite, saving my deals for another day. Our local PE. Lately much improved until tonight. Firstly got there and there were empty tables by the window reserved but no reserved markers on the tables. Found a table in a gangway, rather too tight. Asked for a coke and was told, no coke or diet coke. I pointed out that there was corner shop literally over the road where they could buy enough for an evening, to be met with that sad puppy dog expression. We then asked for a pint of orange and lemonade and instead of being given a pint glass was given two half pints at the same time!! It made the table look stupid... Apart from that the pizza was lovely.
I have visited this restaurant twice with my friends and on both occasions, we received terrible service and were given incorrect change of 5 pounds. Despite our complaints, the waiter only acknowledged the issue the second time and reluctantly gave us half of what was owed. Another waitress looked at us suspiciously even though we had not done anything wrong - possibly because we are young and they underestimated our awareness. In general, the food was overpriced but acceptable. Overall, it was not a great experience and I will definitely not be returning.
Came here for a catch up and it was wonderful. The staff were attentive and the food was on point. One of the staff members even helped me with a discount food voucher code that was on the website! Now that’s service! We had a mix of starters, mains and desserts and they were all delicious! It was great to catch up with family and even better in this setting. Stopped here for a quick pizza before jumping back on the train. Service was friendly enough and quite speedy, but when I came to pay with a pre-paid gift card I was told that it wasn't accepted. Paid by other means and left. It turns out that this is nonsense and that they should have accepted the gift card. Hacks me off when waiting staff make up their own rules!
Three of us visited last night, Thursday 1st September. The food was excellent, the wine very well priced but overall the service was exceptional. We had a lovely young guy serving us and a very charming female member of staff. The service couldn’t have been more friendly and more professional. Really enjoyable evening.
I recently ordered some pizzas and garlic bread from Pizza Express and was very impressed. I placed the order on my way to the shop and they were ready for me when I returned. You can also dine in for lunch or dinner at this restaurant.
