Poor experience from the start. We turned up to the restaurant at 4pm to find that they were closing and reopening at 8pm. When we returned at 8pm we waited 5 minutes before we were seated despite the restaurant being almost empty. The waiter took our order very quickly. The garlic bread and sangria was OK. Then the pizza came. The dough was awful (almost raw), the pizza was topped with just cheese and mushrooms with no tomato topping in sight. The pizza was also swimming in oil. As a waitress myself I was suprised to see that they did not check back to see if the food was up to standard (it was not). The plates had not been cleared for at least 10 minutes, we had to try and get the waiters...
Been here many times as I have an apartment very near by. Always have the menu of the day early evening. On this visit we were told they have never done that which is not true. So we just had a main, one shared sweet and 2 drinks. I was shocked how expensive this was (Over €50) . Food was good though but smaller portions. I came here to have a reasonably priced meal but ends up being very expensive so won’t be coming back fast. Waiter blamed the cost of living crisis. I personally would have just put up the price of the menu of the day to cover the extra cost. This decision will loose them business as I know many who do the same as us.
We visited Es Castell on the local bus from Mahon. We chose Pizzeria Lalola to have lunch, based on their Menu del Dia that was posted outside. Service was great, food was excellent and the price was very good for what we got. Starter, main course, dessert, bread and drink. All for €18. Similar menus in Ciutadella were €25 without bread. We had a lovely view of the bay while sitting there.
We had a meal here after strolling around Es Castell we fancied pizza and pasta and this place had the perfect menu. I had the gnocchi and my partner had a pizza. We both polished our plates and can agree they were delicious! Waitress was lovely and the view just speaks for itself! Recommend if you are in Es Castell or the surrounding area. It is with enormous sadness that I write that Lalola is no more. I would like to thank the owners and staff for over 20 years of fabulous service and brilliant food. The restaurant was one of the few remaining typical Menorcan eateries with fabulous views over the Mahon harbour. A part of Menorca has gone for ever. R.I.P. Lalola
Service and staff very friendly. Great view. Food mediocre to poor, wasn’t cheap. Seafood you’d expect to be fresh but calamari was frozen and fried and pasta had no taste. Won’t be going back here
Walked along the beautiful harbour and picked this restaurant for seafood. Mussels excellent seafood pasta very good. Great attentive service. Highly recommended. Great to back in Spain

Four of us had a lunch here. Good food and good menu with plenty of choice. Just had lunch there but expect it was the same menu for dinner.
