We live in a nearby village, consider The Plough to offer the best food for some distance, and enjoy it as often as we can. It occurred to me that 'regulars ' might not leave reviews so here it is if you are looking for excellent restaurant quality food, wines and service, or just want to have a pint with your dog in the bar or garden, you cannot beat The Plough. The owners Martin, Jayne Michael are very welcoming, and places like this are all too rare. Highly recommended. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Great service! We didn’t have any reservation and they were able to find us a table despite the fact they were full. The food is absolutely delectable, from the starters to the main dish and the dessert. We had the tomato soup with their fresh sourdough bread and cultured butter, then the smoked rib flank and the peach lavender cream as well as the chocolate pot. It is clear to see why this pub is always quickly booked up. We had a lovely meal and literally everything was perfect. Food, service and atmosphere. I had the scallops, The sirloin and the Soufflé Absolutely worth every penny and we will definitely become regulars of this lovely establishment. The dining experience at this restaurant is consistently outstanding, and the service is exceptional. I highly recommend trying the fixed price menu - it never fails to impress. This has been our family's favorite restaurant since it opened, and we dine here regularly. It has become the standard by which we judge and compare all other restaurants.
This restaurant served a beautiful meal from start to finish. The atmosphere was very welcoming. The staff were attentive and informative, especially considering my dietary restrictions. The food was delicious, including the cakes and hummus, lamb and pistachio souffle, and for once I was able to enjoy a pudding. I will definitely be back!
I had another wonderful dining experience on Friday at The Plough, trying their special fish menu. The scallops were fried to perfection and the lobster was the best I have ever had, accompanied by a great selection of wine. The restaurant had a beautiful ambiance, with warm and friendly service. It's no wonder it was packed.
service was brilliant, very fast and the right level of attention. very nice and courteous staff. it was clean and the presentation of table and eating was nice. that was delicious. my only part was the menu that was unnecessarily complicated.
