My family and I have been regulars at Plungy for years now. It feels like our second home and the staff have become like a second family to us. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to visit in a while due to the current virus situation and our health concerns, so we have been self-isolating at home. However, our daughter-in-law informed us that they were offering takeout services, so we immediately placed an order. I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at this restaurant. I ordered the king prawn masala with rice and was very impressed with the delicious flavor and generous amount of prawns and vegetables. I also accidentally ordered a Balti pie for my partner, thinking it was a lamb balti curry, but he ended up really enjoying it. The lamb balti pie had a great pastry crust, plenty of filling with fresh vegetables, and mashed potatoes. We would both definitely order these dishes again and highly recommend this restaurant. While sitting at our table we noticed groups of 3 and sometimes 4 groups of women going to the ladies toilets together even though government guidelines clearly state people should enter and leave the toilets on a 1 in, 1 out basis, this was not monitored at all. Customers were freely going over to other tables to speak to their friends even though this is not allowed. Issues with ordering and paying for drinks and food. Thought we would give it a go, but will not be returning anytime soon, as it is clearly too much of a free for all....
We visited tonight 31/08. We ordered a family meal at 5.15. By 7.15 we had not received our meal. We noted that a number of nearby tables who ordered their food some time after us were served their food. Ours had still not arrived. We complained but still no food, some time later we received a refund. I cant tell you how disappointed we were that we watched table after table be served while we patiently waited for our food. We regularly visit the pub. I'm at a loss of what think and really don't want to come back.

I have had a beer or two here in the old days. The Gin Festival here is superb and will definitely go every years it’s on with the family. We went for food here for the first time time and it was great. 4 adults 4 kids and everyone enjoyed. A couple of well portioned Sunday lunches and a couple of burgers for the adults. Good kids meals. Would have liked a small dip for the onion Bhaji with the Lime n Chilli chicken burger. Will try other things next time.
I’d wanted to try the “Plungy” for a long time as I know it has the same owners as the best pub in Preston The Continental. It was easy to book but the app to order wasn’t working when we got there. I was a little underwhelmed by the place maybe because I had high expectations. The food didn’t take too long and was tasty. Home cooked as well.
Recommended by some friends, we have first time visited this pub for Sunday lunch. Nice welcoming service with as expected roast dinner. Tasted good. Where we were seating was drafty with constant traffic and we felt it was a big expensive for pub lunch.
Had Sunday lunch delivered to our home from here today. Was absolutely delicious, fresh, homemade and piping hot. Support this business guys in what are difficult times. The food and service are top notch chef quality at pub prices.

Great job everyone! We loved our Gammon dinner, spicy chicken burger, and kids' goujon meal. We placed our order in the afternoon and picked it up at 5:30pm. Highly recommend, especially considering the current circumstances.
As a none spice lover, life can be hard. But half and halfing a non spicy pizza couldn’t have been easier at the the plungington hotel. Thank you!
