I don 't like to yelp any business. If I have a complaint I will email them directly and hope they will respond. However, I recently had an experience at the Blu Point restaurant in Newburgh , NY that needs to be addressed. They did respond with an insincere computer generated apology, asking that I please email them at a particular site. I did, twice, and got no response. So here 's my review of the Blu Point. Overpriced and sub par food. My son ordered lobster lollipops, on a block of Himalayan sea salt. Nice try on presentation but over $30 for three one biters. UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP! The menu and the food and the service have all had a face lift!! It 's been a long time since I 've come here bc I was pretty disappointed in my last anniversary dinner with my husband. Today my girlfriends and I decided to take a chance on a beautiful night and a happy hour menu! We were able to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful view! I have been here a few times before with great service and food. Last Wednesday we brought a friend from out if town. The atmosphere was great with seats with a river view unfortunately after that things were less than good. The food was mediocre and service was terrible. Ordered a wine that never came. Asked for crushed red pepper and it came after meal was almost finished. This is a pretty expensive restaurant and for the price we paid it was very disappointing. They were also out of very popular dishes. Will not return.
In my opinion, Blu Pointe stands out as one of the finest restaurants in the Hudson Valley. I had some guests from Florida, and they absolutely loved the view of the riverfront as well as the restaurant's ambiance. The raw bar was fantastic, featuring fresh oysters and lobster. We sampled two of the specials, and they were both delightful! The service was prompt and friendly, making it a wonderful spot for a social gathering or a romantic dinner. I highly recommend it! The views and location are truly impressive. I was pleasantly surprised by the ambiance and decor of the restaurant. Although Kier Royal wasn’t on the drinks menu, they managed to create it beautifully for me. The dozen oysters mignonette served as an appetizer were delightfully fresh, capturing the essence of the sea. The selection of main dishes, including scallops, sole, and ribeye steak, was quite satisfying.
The service at this restaurant was quite good, providing a pleasant dining experience. The staff was attentive and courteous, ensuring that our needs were met throughout our visit. The atmosphere, on the other hand, was exceptional. The ambiance was inviting and stylish, creating a wonderful backdrop for a meal. Overall, it was a lovely experience that I would recommend to others.
Went here twice in a week because of their great range of options for everyone in our group. Some wanted sushi some wanted fish, oysters, king crab, pasta, meat plus good wine selections and cocktails the service is outstanding i gotta say they are extremely attentiveand it really adds to the experience. The view of the Hudson is very nice, seat by it.
We visited Blu Pointe to celebrate our first wedding anniversary, and they really made the occasion special. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the views of the Hudson River were stunning. We went to the Sunday Brunch buffet today and it was wonderful! It was my mother-in-laws birthday and they gave her a handwritten birthday card (yes, a birthday card) and a dessert plate with a candle. The view and service was amazing and the food even better.
