Ponsawan Thai Cuisine

I visited a new Thai restaurant for the first time, Ponsawan Thai Cuisine, located at Washington St and Hwy 7 in Thornton. I started off with the Thai iced tea and fish cakes, both of which were excellent. I found it fascinating how different the fish cakes were from Japanese ones. The pad Thai with chicken was outstanding—subtly unique compared to others I've tried. The noodles had a perfect texture, slightly firm yet not mushy, and the flavor was incredible. Since I can?t hop on a flight to Thailand right now, I can pop into this little restaurant and be transported back for a short time. I love the staff, they?re sweet. And they always offer delicious additions to the meal: would you like to try some grilledspare ribs? Of course! And, they tasted like heaven in the sauce. Muah. We got fried bananas for dessert of course ourwaitress recommended some homemade coconut ice cream. We couldn?t say no. I?m salivating just thinking of it.

We called to express our concerns, and they mentioned that they portion the meat by weight. However, that clearly wasn't the case, as there was a significant inconsistency in our meals. If they're using ingredient costs as an excuse, they should consider raising their prices slightly and providing a proper serving of protein. It's frustrating, and it makes me hesitant to spend money on a dish that seems mostly like noodles. At this rate, it might be a while before I return.

Just the appetizer, the fish cakes, will blow your mind with the inclusion of kaffir lime leaves. And then there's the dessert: the highly sought-after mango sticky rice. You'll find yourself wanting to order another serving—it's that good! The sticky rice is perfectly cooked, topped with warm, rich, creamy coconut milk, a sprinkle of sesame, and deliciously sweet mango. It's a perfect combination! Are you salivating yet? It’s a real head scratcher as to why this place is so highly reviewed. The restaurant smells like open sewer, the service is pushy for you to order more and the chicken in the masamam curry was crunchy and the larb didn’t come with the things it said it does peanuts and mint. When we asked for peanuts and mint, they charged us 4 extra dollars! Save your hard earned dollars.

I’ve been exploring different Thai restaurants in Erie, and this one has been my favorite so far. The flavors and recipes are truly authentic, and they will spice it up as much as you request. I’ve experienced both delivery and dine-in, and the staff has been excellent in both cases. One downside is that I wish the portion sizes were a bit larger for the price.

I love the food, and the people at Ponsawan, they have great cooks from Thailand. They are all very nice people there! The atmosphere is relaxing and has a large screen with beautiful pictures of their homeland . I have enjoyed most everything on the menu. There is plenty of parking and the food is awesome! Try it!!

What a lovely surprise. We came here for lunch and it was incredible. The presentation was outstanding. The egg rolls were fresh and crispy, the pad thai was the perfect blend of flavors, and the in-season mango with sticky rice was to die for. We will definitely be back. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

We all liked our food. We were there for dinner around closing time but they served us regardless which we really appreciated We will be back there to try more things from their menu.

Had a good dinner here. We ordered curry duck, pad see ewe, and they were delicious. Very friendly, attentive waitresses. Will come back to try other items on menu
