I absolutely adore this restaurant. I visited for the first time last week and returned today with friends and family because the food was so amazing. There is a wide variety of choices on the menu. The waffle I ordered was soft and fresh with generous toppings, and my daughter loved her strawberry sundae. The sandwiches were just as delicious. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We ordered two mermaid cakes, but they accidentally gave us mermaid shakes instead. They were very generous and allowed us to keep the shakes. The attention to detail and presentation of the desserts and shakes were superb. I will definitely be returning again soon.
We visited Pop Pins twice in August and it was absolutely lovely. The ice cream selection is extensive and the desserts and sandwiches are delicious. The cafe is charming with sand and seashells decorating the front windowsill, creating a beachy vibe. The seating outside and courtyard in the back are perfect for enjoying the pastel painted walls and pretty garden seats with cushions and flowers. The portions are generous and the staff are very friendly. Overall, it's a wonderful place to enjoy a meal with friends and family. I wish I lived closer so I could visit every week. Plus, there's a restroom available for customers.
My Granddaughter and I had a wonderful lunch today. A lovely setting and spotlessly clean. What made it such a great time was the full Gluten Free Menu! There's not many places that I can take her to eat and it was so lovely to see able to choose from a full size menu, Toasties, desserts and really yummy milkshakes. Treat yourself to a fantastic lunch, snack or a yummy ice cream. Thank you to all staff for making use really welcome.
Called in on a warm October day for 3 ice-creams. Noticed that they were priced at £3.50 -expensive but perhaps something special? Answer alas was ‘nothing special at all’! Small scoop of ice cream and an old cornet..I’m afraid £10.50 was an absolute rip-off. I can only hope that this was a one-off and perhaps we’d just picked the wrong day. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Went there today for a lunch with friends. As always fantastic choice of food and very friendly staff. The service is very quick. And their chocolate milkshake is a good old fashioned one, not out of a bottle, and is delicious. Its one reason to go to this place. Cannot rate this place highly enough. Good food, lovely staff and clean.
Went to Colchester Poppins today for the first time. Friend had cod and chips, I had the brunch meal. All meats on mine were burnt beyond recognition and made it difficult to chew and swallow. Chips undercooked on both plates. She enjoyed her cod but the peas were cold. Service was very slow. Best thing was the milkshakes.
Disappointing experience. Despite passing by many times, I decided to finally enter the restaurant today. The waffle I ordered was obviously a pre-packaged, store-bought waffle and not freshly cooked. It was tough and overpriced at £8.50. The staff seemed disinterested, as if they didn't want to be there.
Nice food but staff member verrry offish made my stepdaughter cry..and shes only 10...not what i would expect from such a nice place for kids....big letdown...keep your kids away from here Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
My favourite sandwich is the brie, rocket and caramelized onion. Never had anything like it before, highly recommend it. Staff always friendly and helpful.
