This place had been recommended by a colleague as a great place for a steak night. Although the quality of the meat is undoubtedly outstanding – tender, fresh Scottish beef I left overall disappointed. Clearly, the meat is so good it doesn’t need much...seasoning – but not having any salt at all was a bit too extreme! Then, we were provided with a variety of sauces (mustards and so on), but it wasn’t great to then have them taken away to be put on other dinners’ tables (raising big alarm bells to the OCD there’s in me Then… of course the meat is the star of the place, but would it be too much to ask for home-made chips, rather than the pre-made, frozen, cheap-like chips we were offered? I haven’t been to this wonderful restaurant in over years and I was worried it wouldn’t live up to the very fond memories I had of this place. However the food quality, ambiance and hospitality were better than ever. The new special steak option...was incredible, as ever cooked to perfection, chips were fantastic and not greasy at all and the ‘piece de resistance’ was the chocolate brownie, and as a brownie connoisseur, I believe is the best brown in the world! (I am not exaggerating). Service was delightful, run by two people taking care of every aspect of your experience. Amazing memories, old and new and will definitely not leave it so long.
Been several times to Popeseye ... and sure to return several times more. Consistently good. Choice of cuts (think six) and select your size, served with super chips too. Friendly service in a small local restaurant great to support and feel pretty sure you...will have a lovely meal be well taken care of. Looking forward to my next excuse to return.

My husband and I love the occasional steak and chips and have enjoyed many good steaks over the years. We sampled different steak cuts at Popeseye and all were amazing. The mature beef is delievered times a week from Scotland. You can select...the cut and watch it cooked to your liking. Fantastic range of red wines to accompany the steak.
A very small restaurant run by a couple. Focusing on steak only. These are good but not amazing. Possibility to bring your own bottle for a cork fee. The bill is quite spicy for the set up at around per head. Not sure I...will return.
Quaint little restaurant, menu is basically just steak salad red wine. Meat cooked to perfection, fun ambience. If you just want a good steak without all the frills or overkill of big name steak houses, I recommend this place.

in these days it is so good to have a great place. they offer a whole series of steaks to suit every taste. some great wee (plus byo if they want) and even an salat with their riders to go when they ask!
