As a Popeyes enthusiast who typically frequents the Markham location, I was eager to try the Pickering branch, but my experience was disappointing. I was surprised to discover that Popeyes even serves fish, as my chicken had clearly been fried in the same oil, which was certainly not fresh. The chicken was very dark, a sign of stale oil being used. While I imagine Popeyes has quality standards for its franchises, it seems this location is not following them. I visited the restaurant on Tuesday night at 6:30 PM. The cashier informed me that they didn't have any spicy chicken available. When I inquired about the wait time, she replied that they weren't cooking spicy chicken that evening since it was a slow night. Additionally, the regular chicken they had was displayed on a tray at the counter, appearing to be getting cold, as it wasn't under a heat lamp. I asked the cashier if they were closing soon, and she assured me that they would be open until midnight. This is unacceptable for Popeyes. You need to pay attention, as you're losing business. I even saw three customers walk out because there was no spicy chicken. I hope this serves as a wake-up...
As a longtime resident of this community for over ten years, I stopped patronizing this restaurant two years ago. Tonight, I decided to give it another try, hoping for improvements. Unfortunately, the staff did not take my order within the first five minutes of my arrival, even though I was next in line. There was no communication or acknowledgment during that time. Although it was still two hours before closing, they only started cooking the spicy chicken after I placed my order, which added an additional 15 minutes to the wait. I strongly recommend avoiding this location.
I wouldn't recommend visiting this location. It seems like no one knows how to effectively manage the restaurant. It's not difficult to handle orders, especially during dinner time, yet every time I come, there's a long wait. I wish I could give this place zero stars! The customer service is absolutely terrible. I placed a pickup order 20 minutes ago for fresh food. When I arrived, I was told it would take another 20 minutes for the chicken to be ready. There was no apology or explanation. I won't be coming back to this restaurant again.
As for parking, there are plenty of spaces available, but the paint is almost worn off, making it hard to identify the designated spots, especially for handicap parking, which are located across at the neighboring Mandarin restaurant.
I ordered wings and chicken. The wings were fresh and tasty, but unfortunately, the chicken was old and rubbery, as if it had been sitting out since lunchtime. I couldn't eat it. Please don't serve this to your customers.
