We arrived early to the war memorial so decided to pop in here for a bit of breakfast & a coffee. I didn't think the service was that great & the woman behind the counter didn't seem to really know where anything was, perhaps she was new. The good & the coffees were really good though so we decided to come back for lunch. I had the Romario soup with bread & a nice glass of wine, which was delicious. We really like the atmosphere here & also loved the decor. Overall a great place for a meal, coffee & to rest your weary legs after a tour of the war memorial.
There was a very lovely lady who served us at Poppy's today. She was incredibly cheery and very friendly, great experience on the customer service front. The menu isn't huge, however there's a good selection of sandwiches, wraps and rolls. The chicken burger is sooo good. Love the slaw and fresh beetroot, and their mayo is great (not sure if house made or commercial, but haven't had any like it before). Great place! Oh, and pretty good chips.
Poppy's was a great place to have a break from looking through the War Memorial. The place is comfortable (with some lounges), modern with a great vibe and a decent menu range at reasonable prices. We had a pretty basic lunch (coffee, hot chocolate, toasties and chips), but these were tasty and served rapidly with a smile. Thoroughly recommended.
We stopped here for lunch and found the food simple and they did not have enough staff for the number people.We had the pot pie which was nice but very simple, with either chips or salad. We where lucky and our food come out fast but i could hear alot of people commenting on the time they had to wait for food.

Visited the Australian War Memorial Canberra and had lunch at Poppy's Cafe. Prices were reasonable and had to wait a fair while for two of the meals, Battered Flat Head and a Poppy Burger but it was worth the wait.
Beautiful interior design. I love the unique chairs. The kids meals are quite large, and the soup of the day is a good price at $10. Most other things on the menu are pricey. Their iced coffee is delicious!

We enjoyed our food - combination of rolls, chips, salad and soup. No complaints from our table and the service was efficient.
We settled for a lamington when we realised that the kitchen had already closed mid-afternoon. Service was slow, but friendly, and the lamington and hot drinks all tasted good.

Entree size meals at grossly inflated prices! Even the waiter agreed that the meals we ordered were inadequate. Don't bother!!
Good food, reasonable prices and wide choice of healthy options plus succulent burgers - what more do you need from a cafe?!
