Came here to celebrate the 40th birthday of a good friend. Restaurant is small and quaint with a great neighbourhood friendly feel. Front of restaurant opens with a garage door style door to Bloor street so a great view and feel of the city. We had the newly opened basement reserved for our party of about 25 people. He recited the entire beverage menu several times as guests kept arriving and believe me it is an extensive beer menu. This is the sister restaurant to Tall Boys, just down the street. I've always been a fan of Tall Boys, but this place manages to surpass it.We ordered strictly vegetarian fare, so I cannot comment on the meat at all. But what we had was so good.We got: Bannock (omg, that sauce!), fried plantain, veggie sliders (made with jackfruit) and kale salad. The kale salad (called something to do with a maple hugger..?) was only okay. The dressing was good, but when making kale salad, you really need to massage the kale. Just throwing it in a bowl is no good.But! Other than that, the food was excellent.Beer selection, of course, was fab too.Service was decent.I'll be back!
Das Wenona wurde uns von jemandem aus Toronto empfohlen, und das war auch gut so, denn als Tourist wäre man an dem Lokal eher nicht vorbeigekommen.Das Ambiente ist cool und locker, es ist etwas dunkel aber man fühlt sich auf jeden Fall wohl, auch weil der Service super nett und freundlich ist. Das Beste ist aber definitiv das Essen! Der Kellner hat das Beef Brisket empfohlen, und das Fleisch war absolut köstlich! Dazu hatte ich Cole Slaw, und es wurden mehrere hauseigene Saucen dazuserviert, die auch allesamt toll waren!Absolut empfehlenswert für Fleischliebhaber, und das zu wirklich fairen Preisen!
My second review of this place. I go here pretty often. Fantastic beer selection and really good bbq menu. But just recently they did away with the bbq menu and now have a simple bar menu like everywhere else. We got the pootine and reuben sandwich. Very average. What a shame...this place once stood out and now it looks like they're cutting costs perhaps. I was also a little surprised that the staff was drinking and taking shots all night. Still a friendly staff though. Beer was still fantastic, the Nitros Red Amber and Left Field Sunlight Park were fantastic.

Had a side launch beer and pulled pork platter and both were excellent. The bartender took great care of us too. Loved the 4 different sauces and the platter was a lot of food. If I had to pick one thing I didn't care for it was the biscuit. It's also a cool little place with some character.
I was so delighted to find this place!! Torontos saving grace!! Great beer, great food and sound staff!I had lost faith in finding a nice cozy local but then I found wenonas...no need to write a big review just GO.. good food with great portion sizes ....:) This bar is a GIFT
Went for dinner - really enjoyed the food and great drink list. The friend chicken was really juicy but the batter was too fried - but the kale side, fries, brisket were all great - will be back! Enjoyed the atmosphere and friendly staff.
Wenona's was great. It's a pretty laid back beer bar with a nice selection of Ontario beers. Phil the owner was awesome and gave us some great tips for travel around Toronto.

Love love love this place. The Food is so good, and the owners are really nice and friendly. I wish I lived closer so it could be my local.
Rustic cottage feel, easy going staff. Well read about their beers. And always have a good selection. Mostly local which is so good :)
